I held the files in my hand, looking over them while standing in front of the floor to ceiling window in my office at Winston, Green, and Meyers. I glanced up from the papers briefly, staring out at the gloomy sky, praying that the rain would hold off until I was well on my way to visit my best friend Marcus' family in S. Carolina. I couldn't wait to get my mouth on some delicious barbecue, before using my mouth to do some things I would never tell my mother about to Marcus' body. Over the years, we have managed to become friends, with a lot of benefits. And let me tell you, I loved each and every one of them.
I felt a smile forming on my face, followed by a set of arms wrapping around my waist. I turned around and looked into the brown eyes of my boss Reginald Green. "What's with the smile Amber? I've never seen you smile like that while at work." I grinned at him and let out a sigh as he pressed a soft kiss to my lips. "Just reminiscing." Reggie took his hand and trailed it up my inner thigh, causing my body to tremble in excitement. "Must have been a good memory, to have you smiling like that, and I haven't done anything to you yet." Reggie let his thumb trail over the nylon material, covering my panties under my skirt. I let out a gasp, biting my lower lip as he rubbed back and forth over my wet heat. The files slipped from my hands as Reggie lowered over my desk, yanking the pantyhose from my waist while kissing over the exposed part of my chest. My panties followed the pantyhose, and before I knew it, I felt Reggie's entire length pushing inside of me, filling me with pleasure. I clasped my ankles around his waist as we moved together, until we had both reached a wonderful place.
Reggie fixed his clothes, as I slid a fresh pair of panties and stockings up my legs. He winked at me as I bent down to pick up the files I dropped earlier. "Well that was a great send off, I can't wait to get back on Monday now." I winked at him, glancing down at my phone vibrating phone. "Ditto." I replied, smiling as I read Marcus' name on my screen. "Have a safe trip, and I'll see you Monday morning." I told him, picking up my phone from the desk. Reggie walked to me and kissed me, smiling at me when he pulled away. "I will. Have a good weekend." Reggie backed from the room as I pressed the talk icon on my phone and put it to my ear, waving at Reggie as he closed the door behind him.
"Hey baby." Marcus said into the phone, a smile playing in his voice. "Hey. What's up?" I once again started to read over the files, listening to his reply in the process. "Nothing. Just checking in on you. What time will you be here?" I looked at the watch on my left wrist, straightening the papers, and walking to the file cabinet to put them away. "I have to work for another hour, then go home to change and pick up my bags. So, somewhere between nine and ten." My eyes went to my computer, taking note of the email I had just received. "You're still staying with me and my parents right?" I chuckled to myself, shaking my head as I answered. "Don't we always stay with your parents when we visit them?" I heard him laugh, while saying something to someone in the background. "And you know my parents make me ask you the same question every time we come to visit them." His voice was cut off and the sound of his little sister's voice replaced his.
"Hey Amber. When will you be here?" I rolled my eyes to no one, laughing to myself as I listened to Marcus yelling for her to give him his phone back. "No later than ten. I have to finish working, and then go home before making my way there." I laughed out loud as she yelled back at Marcus. "Oh shut up you big baby. Okay big sis, be careful and I'll see you when you get here. Let me give Mark back his phone before he has a hissy fit."
The two of them could put a smile on your face on the worst of days, and I loved them to death for it.
"Okay baby, I'll see you when you get here. Call me and let me know when you're on your way." I sent the email I had been working on for the thirty minutes I had been on the phone and powered down my computer. "I will. Love you Mark. See you soon." I smiled to myself, looking at the tattoo of his name on the inside of my wrist. "Love you too Amber." The two of us hung up our phones and I finished the rest of my work before heading home.
I drove the streets of Hilton Head, making my way to the summer home that Marcus' family owned. As I turned into the darkened driveway, I cut the lights and parked my car. I retrieved my bags from the back seat and made my way to the front door. Once the key was in the lock, I turned it and walked into the quiet house, locking the door behind me. I made my way to the room that Marcus and I had shared since I started coming here when I was 8 years old.
I walked into the room, smiling down at Marcus' sleeping body, stretched out across one bed, and his little sister Madison on the other. They obviously fell asleep while waiting for my arrival, not that I blame them in the least. I sat my suitcase on the floor, and then moved to Marcus' pulling out one of his t-shirts to wear. Once I had my toothbrush and toothpaste, I walked quietly into the bathroom and got myself ready for bed.
I slid my body in next to Marcus', instantly smiling when I felt his arms wrap around my waist. I closed my eyes, and within minutes I was asleep.
I walked out of the house the following afternoon, searching for Marcus so that I could use his car since mine was blocked in. As I was turning to walk in, I heard his deep voice, full of happiness as he spoke. "Ah, there she is. Amber, come meet my cousin." I turned around as his hand found mine, a smile on my face that immediately vanished as I looked up at Reggie.
"Reggie?" The confusion in my voice, matched the look on his face when he looked down at me, before a smile spread across his face. "How do you two know each other?" Marcus asked as Reggie continued to grin at me. "He's my boss." I squeezed Marcus' hand tighter in mine, before listening as Reggie spoke. "I think I'm a little more than that Amber." He said before lifting me off of my feet and pressing his lips to mine.
I looked back at Marcus, releasing a sigh at the blank expression on his face. "I have to go to the store for my mom. I'll be back later." I looked up at Reggie as he sat me on the ground and then back at Marcus. Marcus started to walk away, so I quickly spoke to Reggie. "I have to go talk to him. I'll be back." I watched as Reggie nodded his head and I rushed off after Marcus.
"Marcus Wait!" I yelled as he threw his leg over his motorcycle.
"I thought you weren't in a relationship." He said with anger in his tone. "I'm not. He's just." Before I could finish, Marcus cut me off and glared at me. "Well he isn't getting that message. Its him or me Amber. We can't continue doing this, when its obvious he wants more from you. He's my cousin, so you have to choose. I love you, and I always have but I'm not going to share you with anyone, especially a family member. So choose."
My heart pounded in my chest as I stared at him, listening to the words he said, studying the expression on his face. I clenched my fists to stop the trembling, before closing my eyes and opening them again. "Choose!" He said again, this time more forcefully.
"I choose...." I startedwishing he hadn't just given me an ultimatum, because things would have been so different. But he did, and it wasn't so I answered him, knowing this was going to hurt someone, no matter what I said.
"You choose who?" He asked, hope springing to his face.
"I choose him. I choose Reggie." The look of pure defeat appeared on his face and he climbed off his bike and walked the one step it took for him to get to me. "Fine. But if he hurts you, I'll be there to pick up the pieces. No matter what." Marcus ran has thumb over my cheek before pressing his lips to mine in a kiss that made my knees go weak. "I love you baby. I hope you will be happy with him. That's all I want for you. Your happiness."
Marcus pulled his helmet over his head and straddled his bike, taking off and leaving me standing there, looking after him as he sped away. I could faintly hear the sound of Leader of the Pack being played in the background as I placed my fingers to my lips and let out a sigh.
I made my way back to Reggie, and when I saw him I smiled, but it didn't reach my eyes. I knew that I had made a horrible mistake, and I didn't know what I could do to fix it. So I grabbed Reggie's hand, squeezing it, but no longer feeling the comfort it normally gave me. It was a feeling between friends. A feeling I never had with him, until right that moment, when I realized, I was in love with my best friend.
As I walked Reggie to his car, I knew it was now or never. I couldn't go on like this after the revelation I had just come across, and I couldn't act like things hadn't changed that quickly. So when I stopped at his car I had to tell him. So what if I lost my job, I could get another one. But I would never find another Marcus.
"Look Reggie." But before I could even start, Reggie raised his hand to silence me. "I know. Its over. Because you love my cousin." My eyes widened as I looked at him in a different light. "How.... How did you know?" Reggie shrugged and looked at me briefly before answering. "I guess I've always known. Although I never knew who your best friend was, I could tell in the way you talked about him, the way you would gaze at his name on your wrist, the happiness you had in your voice whenever you saw his name on your phone, a sound you never had with me."
Did I really do that? Was I really that oblivious to something that was so obvious to everyone else? I guess listening to Reggie now gives me my answer.
I nodded my head at him leaning my face into his hand as he touched it. "I want you to know that if it was anyone else, I would fight for you. But I would never hurt my family that way, especially when its so obvious that he loves you as much as he does. So I'm going to let you go, even though it will be hard. Just promise to take care of my little cousin for me. Okay?" I nodded my head against his hand. "I'm sorry. I really never intended on hurting you." Reggie smiled at me, a spark in his eyes that let me know he really was okay with it. "I know you didn't, and don't ever think other wise. You still have your job if you want it. So hopefully, I'll see you on Monday, because you are excellent at what you do. Right?" I nodded my head, smiling as kissed my cheek. "Good. See you Monday then." Reggie slid into his seat, looking at me and winking. "Be careful." He nodded his head and closed the door as I made my way back to the house.
I sat in the middle of the bed, staring at my phone, waiting for Marcus to return my call, or walk through the door. But when the phone actually rang, it scared me causing me to drop the phone. When I was able to answer it, I was told by a nurse that Marcus, had been in an accident and he was in the hospital. My heart nearly stopped as I told her I was on the way and hung up my phone, slid my feet into my shoes, grabbed my purse, and rushed out of the room to wake everyone.
I was the first one at the hospital, and I wanted answers. When they assured me he would be okay, just a broken leg, I was able to breathe a little easier as the nurse showed me to his room.
I walked in, and watched as he turned his head towards me. He smiled weakly at me and I rushed to him, kissing him softly. "I love you so much. I almost died when I got the call. I want you. No one else but you. I don't know why I ever said anything different. As soon as you drove away, I realized I made a horrible mistake. Reggie, he knew and wasn't at all surprised and he gave us his blessing. Please forgive me for my stupidity, and tell me you'll always be there for me, just like I will always be for you.
The smile that spread across his melted my heart as he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. "I do and I will. I promise." I felt a tear slide down my cheek as he pulled me into his arms holding me with a love I never knew existed, but was more than happy to experience.http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=46754894
