Blood splattered everywhere, dyeing everything a brilliant red. Her eyes were growing heavy and breathing was becoming a difficult task, but she wouldn't die, she couldn't die! She glanced over at Akimitsu's body, an unnatural amount of blood gushing from his wound. He was struggling to get up, struggling to get up so he could protect her; she knew this and it tore her apart inside. She shakily made it to her feet, only to collapse under the weight of exhaustion. She had failed. Akimitsu was dying and she was no better off. Whoever this "Hisae" was must've been a complete weakling if she resembled her. She jolted up from bed, her eyes wide in terror. It was just another nightmare, she knew this, yet her heart still decided to break dance in her chest. She glanced to the side of her bed, only to see a black-haired boy trying desperately not to fall asleep. These nightmares were having more of an effect on him than they were on her. "Kaori-sama, did I wake you?" I shook my head and sighed. "Go get some sleep, human or not you're going to be tired as hell tomorrow." My suggestion was answered by the sound of soft, muffled snoring. Unfortunately, Akimitsu only got about three more hours of sleep until the sun rose, although you wouldn't know it by the excitement in his voice. "Kaori-sama, are you feeling any better?" I nearly had a heart attack when I saw his face suddenly appear five centimeters from my face. After I recovered from temporary shock, I tiredly nodded my head. "Yeah, I'm fine, don't wor-"I was interrupted by a strong pang in my abdomen, as if to spite me. "It hurts, doesn't it?" The dreaded sound began speaking to me again, very loudly to say the least. So much so that I'm surprised Akimitsu didn't hear it. "You know, all you have to do is kill him and all of this can go away." The voice wasn't harsh this time, no, quite the contrary, it was warm and sweet, but I was no fool! "Shut up!!!" I yelled in hopes of scaring whatever was inside me away. Instead it laughed. Why was it laughing? What was so damn funny? My questions were answered by Akimitsu's expression. He looked utterly shocked, and a bit sad. "N-no, not you-it's just-I need help Akimitsu! There's something inside me and I'm scared!" He pulled me into a protective hug and began petting my head. "Ssshh, it's alright, I told you I wouldn't let anything hurt you didn't I? My grandfather is coming over to get rid of the problem." I didn't speak; I just sat there, enjoying the feel of his soft skin and the sweet smell of him. I was pulled from my personal heaven when I heard a knock at the door. Akimitsu left to answer it and I came with him, afraid to be left alone for even one minute-Afraid that my nightmares may become reality.
