SUMMER AND FOREVER AFTER

I pounded on my Brother Liam’s door as loudly as I could; I needed to study for my History test tomorrow and his loud hard rock music kept disturbing me. With a sigh, I used my foot to kick the door open and it slammed against the wall.

Oh yeah! Girl power, I knew I had it in me. I smiled victoriously as I looked at the dent the doorknob had left. My brother jumped up from his bed and turned the music down, “What the hell Lanie are you crazy?” He came rushing over to examine his black painted wall.

A rather obvious white dent was placed there; the paint had chipped off leaving it a whitish grey color. I folded my arms across my chest as I waited for him to finish coloring out the dent with a sharpie, wasn’t such a great idea to do that, if you ask me.

“I need to study for my History test, could you please turn your music down?” I kept my voice firm yet not too demanding, he looked at me and then his wall.

“You could’ve just asked you know, you didn’t really have to dent my wall” He looked at his wall sadly, unlike other boys my brother was neat, he kept his room tidy and he didn’t like things out of place. Mostly because when they are out of place, he goes crazy looking for them.

“I did try knocking, sadly you didn’t hear” I glanced at his bed; he was reading a boy magazine. I wrinkled my nose in disgust, who knew what they put on guy’s magazines. I can just imagine it has something to do with Victoria Secret and other luxurious lingerie.

He sighed, and then he looked up at me with a puzzled facial expression “When did you get so strong?” I smirked, Oh yeah, I knew it was a tad unusual that a girl could do that. But hey, I am Unique. I also have been working out, only because my best friend Alison had invited me down to her beach house for the summer.

Yep, were having our finals then were free! I love summer vacation. We have no limitations and we don’t need to get up really early. Also I loved the summer sun and catching some waves and giving my body a luscious tan.

“I’ve always been strong, my brother” I walked out of his room and bumped into a hard chest. Crap that ruined my grand exit didn’t it?

“Watch it” Great. It was my brother’s best friend Chris Jackson. He was a real pain in the ass. Always bullying me, yes I know I m such a loser. I'm a junior that gets bullied.

“Shove it, Jackson” I pushed past him and right before I entered my room, I heard my brother whining to him about his chipped wall. Awww! Bromance, how sweet. Not. The last thing I heard before I shut my door was Chris saying ‘Whoa!’

I’ll take that as a compliment, Chris thank you! I sat myself down on my desk and went back to studying. I hope I get a really good score on this test, I mean; I dented my brother’s wall studying for this.

Finally! Finals finished today and we were home free! I'm already all packed up for that trip to Alison’s beach house and I was ready to suck up some sun!

There was one major flaw though, did I forget to mention that Alison’s last name is Jackson. Yep that’s right; she’s the little sister of Chris. This meant I’ll be spending part of my summer with that Ass wipe.

My Brother was invited down too, but his clingy girlfriend Melissa wouldn’t let him go. Mostly because she knew Alison was going to be there. Liam and Alison had a bit of a history, but that was all in the past. Alison’s happily with her boyfriend Garth now. Although I do think Liam’s a tad still hung up on her.

Alison went home walked home with me; she was sleeping over til tomorrow morning. And tomorrow morning, we leave for the wonderful beach!

“There are going to be so much hot guys!” Alison gushed and she was lucky Garth wasn’t here to hear that.

“Did you forget you have a boy friend?” I smirked as her smile faded and she swallowed. She was back up in a second though as she gushed on.

“He wont mind” She smiled with an evil glint in her eye. Now this may sound as if Alison was some sort of slut but she was just joking around, I knew her. She wouldn’t do anything that might pull Garth away from her life.

“Because he won’t know?” I questioned sarcastically. We were both laughing as we entered my house, Alison was telling me a joke about how Garth was about to put his arm around her shoulder and hit an old lady in the process.

That was hilarious but also a tad mean. She said that Garth had apologized so many times and that’s what drove the old lady to run away.

“What’s so funny?” Chris asks, I look up to see him perched on one of the bar stools. He was drinking a soda and Liam was beside him texting, or pretending to. I wouldn’t know.

“Nothing you should know of” I say as I pull out two glasses and a carton of cranberry juice. I poured the juice into each glass and handed one to Alison. Her eyes widened gratefully as she drank it up. It was only the start of the summer but it was already so hot.

He obviously didn’t care so he let the subject drop, instead he invited Liam to join him shoot some hoops down at the park. I hate it when men say ‘lets shoot some hoops bro’ it was a rather over used line.

Once they were gone, I finished the last drop of my juice and Alison and I went up to my bedroom. We were going to watch Something Borrowed. I heard it was a really good movie so I invited Alison over to watch it with me. This turned into a sleep over.

The movie was absolutely great, although Alison didn’t have much to say about it because she was busy texting Garth all the while. In fact her giggles distracted me as well. I wouldn’t want to know, what exactly Garth could be texting her.

I woke up bright an early the next morning, but amazingly Alison was up before me.

“Girl, we got a beach to hit!” She screamed once she saw me walking around trying to get ready for the two hour trip. She was wearing only a tube dress and her bikini underneath. If there's one thing Alison would be so ready for, it would be the beach.

Give her a research and make it due the next day, she wouldn’t even bother trying to do it.

I walked around groggily until I got to my bathroom, I took a quick shower, put on my bikini put some shorts on and a cropped blue tank. When I went out of my room, Alison was texting again; sometimes I liked calling her the texting monster.

“Texting Monster, were going to the beach put that away” I grabbed my shades and suitcase and Alison did the same, though she looked a little sad that she couldn't text.

Chris was already downstairs and Liam was out of the house. I'm a tad hurt that Liam isn’t here to give his little sister a goodbye hug, but he's probably trying to avoid Alison. Shame really, they were a lovely couple.

“Ali, you’re riding with mom and dad.” Uh-oh did that mean……… “Lanie, you’re riding with me” He spun around and started walking but I stayed firmly in place. I didn’t want to ride with him. No, not at all. Alison stayed firmly in place too.

“Mom and Dad are coming?” She asked, she sounded disappointed. Not that she hated her parents or anything. She just thought this could be a time for friendship bonding. She was really excited about having the beach house to ourselves and well, Chris.

Chris turned around and sighed, “No they're just driving you there because they're on their way to the next town, now come on” He turned back around and I still stood there.

“Oh that’s all good then” Alison shrugs and skips out of the house towards her parents car. I don’t want to stay with Chris. Alone. For Two Hours.

“Are you coming or not?” He sounded impatient. I shook my head and he sighed as he came over.

“I don’t want to ride with you” I said firmly, I turned back around and tried walking back up stairs but he ran after me and before I knew it, I was in his arms over his shoulder and he was carrying me to his car. Just Great.

“Let me go! Chris! Let me go!” No matter how much I screamed he wouldn’t. Alison wasn’t there to help me because she and her parents went ahead of us.

He opened the passenger door and sat me down gently, he fastened the seatbelt on me and huffed “There we go, how much have you been eating?” He shook his head and my eyes widened, was he implying that I was fat?

“You……..” And even before I could finish, he raised his palms up and said, “Ooh never mind!” He ran into the house to grab my stuff and I was fuming. What a jerk!

He put my stuff in the trunk then came around to the driver’s side, slamming the door, he stuck the key into the ignition and we were off. For the first thirty minutes, I didn’t speak at all. I was still angry at him for insinuating that I was heavy.

He kept glancing at me and sometimes I would catch a smirk, which made me sink lower in my seat. I think I fell asleep because suddenly we were stopping in front a seven eleven. I stretched my arms out and asked where we were.

“Were still a good hour and a quart away, you didn’t sleep long.” He went out of the car and opened up my side for me. I took my seatbelt off and got out as well. The Sun was shining down and I put my sunglasses on while waiting for my eyes to adjust.

When I turned to face Chris he was wearing shades too and God he looked good in them. Why am I thinking this? I absolutely hate him! He turned to face me and said, “Let’s go in and have a quick break”

“It’s only been 45 minutes and you’re already tired?” I shook my head at him sadly, “You need to work out more, honey” I brushed past him and into seven eleven. I glanced around to see the store was empty, except for the bored looking Goth behind the counter.

She didn’t even acknowledge the presence of a customer when the bell atop the door chimed as I came in. I went through the aisle’s looking at the different food and drink products as well as stationeries and some toiletries.

Chris came in moments after me and was already piling his arms with food he wanted to eat. Ugh, boys. I picked up a packet of Twizzlers and made my way to the counter; Chris followed behind me and dropped his load on top. The Goth started scanning his items while I waited patiently.

“That’s all you’re getting?” He asked as he took his wallet out of his jeans back pocket. I nodded, he was the one who implied I was fat, wasn’t he? I noticed he wasn’t wearing his shades and they were hanging from the edge of the v neck of his shirt.

He sighed as he took it from me and placed it with his pile; I think I can pay for my own food. I grabbed it back and held onto it. He sighed, “I didn’t mean what I said earlier, I was just joking around you know that” I shrugged.

“Let me pay for that, and go get yourself more to eat, it’s a long ride” I held onto the Twizzlers firmly.

“No thank you” The Goth was waiting with a blank look, I held it out to her and she scanned it, I quickly stuck my hand in my shorts pocket to get money but the pocket was so tight it was hard to bring out. It was taking me awhile and before I knew it Chris paid for it and threw in a bag of ruffles. I'm definitely not eating it.

“I think I can pay for my own food” I scoffed as I folded my arms over my chest. He smirked, “Well you were taking forever” He grabbed the bag and we walked out back to the car.

“You wanna stay here first while we eat this load?” He asked as we walked, I shook my head “I'm not eating those, I'm just eating the Twizzlers”

He pulled on my wrist and led me to the back of the car, he sat on the trunk and opened up a pack of Doritos, he started eating while I watched him. When he noticed I wasn’t eating, he sighed and fished around the bag. Then he threw the pack of Twizzlers at me.

I caught it midair and smirked, he smirked back which was a tad funny considering he had a ton of chips in his mouth, he swallowed, “Nice catch”

I went over and sat myself on the trunk as I ate with him.

When we were done eating, well when he was done eating, he watched me as I took slow and small bites from my Twizzler bar. I gave him a quizzical look but he didnt seem to notice.

When I finished eating my Twizzler bar, I jumped off the hood of the car and threw it in the nearest bin.

Dusting my pants off, I turned around and Chris caught me by surprise by capturing my lips with his. Sending shivers down my spine as he kissed me passionately. My knees grew weak and a thousand butterflies fluttered and beat crazily around my stomach. Hesitantly, I kissed him back, I thought he hated me, why the sudden change in emotion?

Breathing heavily he pulled back and leaned his forehead on mine, his nose and mine grazing each other.

He was still breathing heavily, the biggest smile I had ever seen was plastered on his face, "I've been waiting forever to do that" He whispered.

"But I thought you hated me" I breathed, I was still a bit confused.

He kissed me one more time on the lips and said,"Far from that" He whispered into my neck and I realized then that our hatred for each other was like a cloak of invisibilty of our love.

He took my hand and led me back to the car, he held my hand all the way to the beach house.

Just Awhile ago I was afraid to spend a part of my summer with him, I didnt want to spend my summer with him. But now, I'm ready to spend Summer and Forever after with him.
