In her mind she knew. Nothing lasts. Nothing is forever.
So, why, why, WHY did she believe with all of her heart that this could last. Laying in her bed. The early morning light spilling across her lovers serene face. She dragged her finger along the subtle jaw bone and then kissed her temple.
"Beautiful."
"I love you." she had said last night. It was breathy and passionate, a confession of the moment. Did she mean it? Was it just a heat of the moment, take-me-over-the-edge statement?
"I love you." she said this morning. It was calm and sincere as they looked into each others eyes. Searching for that non-existant forever. Three little words can pack a punch. Knocking or sweeping one off their feet.
This morning it will be a confession of truest love, sparked by lust and a forbiddenness. This morning is forever.
