The tall grass from the fields brushes up against my legs and waist, slowing me down with every step. A trail of blood from the re-opened wound on my side follows me, giving the officers an easier way of following and finding me.

The forest is up ahead. As I get nearer, I can just barely see Todd waiting for me, the tall evergreens engulf him. He encourages me onward. To my left I see a truck, it's old and rusted along the bottom, but it seems to still hold many people. There are about five people standing around it, all of them boys. They seem to be watching a kid lying in the street. All except for one.

He's staring right at me. I see a gun hanging at his waist, along with a knife in his left hand. As soon as we make eye contact, I look away. He face is too familiar-looking for my liking.

I hear a gunshot that rings through the field. I stumble and land on my face, dirt and mud fill my mouth and nose. It makes my breaths shallow. A hand grabs my arm and I kick out at the police officer, but as I am pulled up to my feet, I realize that it is a boy I saw near the truck. His brownish hair is blown across his face.

I start to take in the bullet in my calf. I start to stand up, when I see Todd running towards me. He seems to be confused. I stand in an awkward posture with my right leg limply hanging to the side.

Then I black out.
