The shuttle eased onto the landing strip and for a brief moment, I thought we were still airborne. I realized it was the motion of the waves, seesawing in a rhythmic lull.
Nyu produced a small bottle. “This will help.”
I shook my head. “I’ll be alright. Thanks.”
I closed my eyes and let myself drift in the undulating displacements of the sea. On the surface of this planet, I was no longer master of my body. I belonged to the g-forces that dragged me down in a primordial spiral of possession. Gravity, I thought, was the ultimate fall.
