When The Author crashes down into John Miller's life, bringing a horde of Gloff with him, nothing will be the same again. With John's help, The Author sets out on the quest to regain his memories...

This is another Doctor Who spin-off, but one I intended to actually film with a friend, though that sadly never happened.

Episodes 2, 4 and 5 are not included here because I did not write them. View table of contents...

1 ARÉTHNÉA. STREET.

A shop says NEW ASTRAL PROJECTOR, ONLY 17 BILLION
SARANS. The shop is called "Ranthé Projectors"

A couple of poor looking kids press their faces against the
shop window, looking sad.

ESMEÉ and her PARENTS are walking down the street.

ESMEÉ
Dad, I really don't see why we need
to-

HER DAD
Esmeé, expensive items show wealth.

ESMEÉ
What's good about
wealth? Aréthnéans are starving in
the Fourth Continent of Balzer, yet
we're wasting our money on-

HER DAD
Wasting? Do you have any idea what
an Astral Projector does?

ESMEÉ
Yes, but we already have a
perfectly good one at home!

HER MUM
Esmeé darling, this one can travel
a whole 5 light years further!

Esmeé sighs.

ESMEÉ
Fine, but don't expect me to use
it.

HER DAD
Nonsense! What's the point in
having expensive luxuries if you
don't use them? That's like...
throwing away a billion Saran to
charity!

Her Mum and Dad laugh together. Esmeé tries to ignore
them. They enter the shop.

After a minute or so...

They exit, with an ASTRAL PROJECTOR.

CUT TO:

2 ESMEÉ'S HOUSE.

THE ASTRAL PROJECTOR is laid out on the floor, with a box
labeled "Ranthé Astral Projector". The family sit around
it.

ESMEÉ'S DAD
Where do you want to go?

ESMEÉ
I'm still confused about how it
works. So we don't actually travel
to places, right?

HER MUM
Of course not, that would be silly.

HER DAD
And physically impossible.

ESMEÉ
Not according to Streichter's new
theory-

HER DAD
I don't care about unpronounceable
people or their theories! No, it
merely imprints you on any planet
within the range. Right now, I
think there are 500 habitable
planets.

ESMEÉ
But if we're only projecting
ourselves there, does it matter if
it's habitable?

HER DAD
No, but what's the point in going
to see rocks? Right, I'll
randomise it... Have you all got
your wrist straps on?

They nod.

He presses a button. They're swept into a vortex-

CUT TO:

3 VORTEX.

They fall through it, screaming.

CUT TO:

4 EARTH. A FIELD.

ESMEÉ lands, winded. She gets to her feet.

ÉSMEE
Dad? DAD! MUM!!

She looks around.

ESMEÉ
Something went wrong!

A VAN drives past, but ignores her. She looks at her hands,
and cries out.

ESMEÉ
My skin, it's some sort of
peach! I look ugly! I suppose
this must be the form of people on
this planet.

She thinks, for a moment.

ESMEÉ
According to the instructions, I
can get back by pressing the button
on my-

She looks at her wrist.

ESMEÉ
It's gone! I can't get back! I'm
trapped on this planet!

CUT TO:

5 OPENING CREDITS.

CUT TO:

6 TARDIS INTERIOR.

John is sitting on the chair, in thought. The Author walks
out from another room.

THE AUTHOR
Sorry I took so long, there was a
spanner stuck in the cerebral drive
mainframe, and let me tell you, it
wasn't easy to take out-

He notices John isn't listening.

THE AUTHOR
John?

JOHN
Will it always be like that?

THE AUTHOR
Like what? Getting possessed and
attacked every 20 seconds?

JOHN
Something like that, yeah.

THE AUTHOR
The Universe is a dangerous place,
John. You have to get through the
dangers to truly appreciate how
beautiful it is.

JOHN
But what if, say... You die... And
I'm stuck on some alien planet?

THE AUTHOR
That wouldn't happen, Emergency
Protocol 1 would kick
in. Though... I could teach you
some other useful part of the
Tardis.

He takes John to the other side of the control, and
indicates a button.

THE AUTHOR
This button takes you back to the
last place you visited. So if I
pressed this, we'd go back to
Earth...

JOHN
I suppose that will be some
help. I'm not convinced, but I
guess I'll try again. But not
Earth, please. If this can travel
the Universe, then show me.

The Author smiles.

THE AUTHOR
Certainly. I know of a nice, sweet
little planet that coincidentally
isn't too far from Earth - but I
think you'll like it.

JOHN
Go on, then... !

The Author pulls a lever.

CUT TO:

7 ARÉTHNÉA. STREET.

THE TARDIS materialises as some sort of box, that fits in.

JOHN and THE AUTHOR step out.

JOHN
This is an alien planet? It looks
just like Earth!

THE AUTHOR
Oh, come on John, I said it was
near Earth. Similar biological
patterns tend to repeat themselves
across the Galaxy - After all, I
look human, don't I?

John says nothing. He sees an Aréthnéan.

JOHN
Ah, okay. Now I know you haven't
just taken me to somewhere on Earth
and lied.

The Author is both shocked and amused.

THE AUTHOR
Come on. They make the best
Aréthnéan ice cream in the entire
Universe! Well, they're the only
people who make Aréthnéan ice
cream...

PAN TO:

8 ESMEÉ'S HOUSE.

ESMEÉ's PARENTS are sitting, with 2 other Aréthnéans
questioning them.

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
And the Astral Projector was
completely destroyed?

HER MUM
Completely. We have no way of
knowing where she is...

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
And her body?

HER MUM
No sign of it.

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
That's not uncommon. Depending on
the make of the Projector, the body
is sometimes stored in a body bank
until the projection returns home.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
We'll do our best to find her.

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
Tell me, where did you buy the
Astral Projector?

HER DAD
In the Ranthé Astral Projection
Shop in Zath Street.

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
They're usually quite reliable.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
Thank you for your time.

They leave.

CUT TO:

9 EXT. HOUSE.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
That's the seventh this Galgek!

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
It can't be the projectors at
fault, they literally go through a
million diagnostic checks.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
Unless... something is interfering
with the projections... ?

PAN TO:

10 ICE CREAM SHOP.

THE AUTHOR and JOHN are licking green ice creams.

JOHN
This is good!

THE AUTHOR
I told you so...

John's attention moves to a poster advertising Astral
Projectors.

JOHN
Author, what is an Astral
Projector?

THE AUTHOR
A primitive way of projecting
yourself onto another
planet. Assuming this is the year
1134 Earth-Time, they will be
outlawed soon. But... that diagram
does look advanced...

He gets up, and reads it. Then gasps.

JOHN
What?

THE AUTHOR
I'm thinking of Arcadia... They
were never outlawed here. and
another thing... this isn't 1134.

JOHN
When is it then?

THE AUTHOR
This is 1812, Earth Time. The year
Aréthnéa exploded.

JOHN
What!?

THE AUTHOR
Nobody knew why. Some books say it
was the Astral Projectors, because
overuse of them can have massive
side effects, hence them being
outlawed in Arcadia... Others say
it was extensive technology into
drilling into the planet's core
that did it. Whatever it is, we
have to go. It could be in 15
months time, since Aréthnéa's years
are longer than ours... Or it could
be in 5 seconds.

The Author throws his ice cream on the ground and runs
out. John does the same.

CUT TO:

11 STREET.

They run through the street, and reach the Tardis. They go
inside.

CUT TO:

12 INT. TARDIS.

JOHN and THE AUTHOR run in.

Beep. Beep.

The Author reads the scanner.

THE AUTHOR
It has intercepted a rogue Astral
Projection beam travelling to
Earth.

JOHN
Meaning?

THE AUTHOR
Well, that someone has gone to
Earth. And rogue meaning they're
stuck. The Tardis must be quite in
tune with Earth to be able to pick
that up...

He ponders on that, for a second. Then sets coordinated,
and pulls the lever. The Tardis begins shaking and
rattling.

JOHN
Where are you going?

THE AUTHOR
Earth! I wonder... could I prevent
Aréthnéa being destroyed?

JOHN
Wouldn't that be changing it's
history?

THE AUTHOR
Perhaps, I don't know. If I had my
memories I'd maybe know
better. But I don't, so if
something bad happens, it's the
fault of whoever took them away.

JOHN
That's a bit irresponsible!

THE AUTHOR
But fun!

CUT TO:

13 TIME VORTEX.

The Tardis flies through it...

PAN TO:

14 EARTH. A CAFÉ.

ESMEÉ is eating a hamburger.

ESMEÉ
It's not very nice. This planet is
too primitive...

But she finishes eating the hamburger quickly regardless.

ESMEÉ
Surely they will figure out where
I've gone then find a way to get me
back.

She stops, and thinks.

ESMEÉ
Not very filling...

She gets up, and wanders over to the cashier.

ESMEÉ
Another hamburger, please.

CASHIER
Another? Well... okay.

Cashier goes to get one.

Esmeé takes off one of her DIAMONDS RINGS.

ESMEÉ
I was lucky picking up that coin
earlier... But this should be at
least enough to buy half of it,
right?

The Cashier returns.

CASHIER
Here you are, that's £1.30 please.

ESMEÉ
Will this do?

She shows the cashier her diamonds ring.

The Cashier is shocked.

ESMEÉ
It's 93% concentrated Carbon. Will
that be enough? I don't know how
much it's worth.

The cashier grabs it hastily.

CASHIER
Would you like anything else?

ESMEÉ
(oblivious)
No, thank you.

She takes the hamburger and sits down, and eats it as if she
had been starved for several weeks.

CUT TO:

15 STREET. EARTH.

THE TARDIS materialises as a large community bin.

JOHN steps out first.

JOHN
Ugh... Well I'm glad this doesn't
materialise as smells too.

THE AUTHOR
Yes... That would cause a problem.

JOHN
What if the sanitation people think
it has rubbish in it?

THE AUTHOR
Then they'll try and fail to get it
out.

He looks at the Sonic Device.

THE AUTHOR
Come on, this way.

They walk down the street.

PAN TO:

16 RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

RANTHÉ is sitting in a chair - hidden. All camera shots
must show he is there, but not show his face.

RANTHÉ
The Aréthnéan Defence and
Protection Agency! What a lovely
surprise. How may I help you.

ARETHNÉAN 1
I will assume you are aware of the
faults on your projectors, sir?

RANTHÉ
I have been informed, yes. And
believe me, my best Aréthnéans are
on the case.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
But the problem is, this involves
us. You are aware of how many
people have purchased the latest
model of the Astral Projector-

RANTHÉ
7 million, yes-

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
So you of all people will be aware
of how catastrophic this could be
if it gets any worse.

RANTHÉ
Of course.

ARÉTHNÉAN 1
We have had another 3 cases today
in addition to the 7 cases
yesterday. If this persists we
will have no choice but to do a
search of your complex.

RANTHÉ
Of course.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
What of the bodies? Are they still
there?

RANTHÉ
Yes, but as you know it is no use
having the body if the Astral
Projector is unable to recall the
conciousness.

ARETHNÉAN 1
Can we see a body?

RANTHÉ
Out of the question I am afraid, it
is a very highly secure
area. Though, I daresay if you do
get a warrant to search my complex,
you will be allowed to see a body.

ARÉTHNÉAN 2
Thank you Mr Ranthé. We won't
bother you any further.

They get up, and leave.

RANTHÉ
Mr Sneer?

MR SNEER wanders into the room.

MR SNEER
Yes sir?

RANTHÉ
Make sure they don't reach their
base alive, so cannot request a
search order.

MR SNEER
Of course, sir.

RANTHÉ
Total Desintegration, if you don't
mind.

MR SNEER
Certainly, sir.

Mr Sneer exits.

Ranthé begins to laugh, manically.

RANTHÉ
I'm growing stronger... Soon,
nothing shall dare stop the power
of I, RANTHÉ!!!!

PAN TO:

17 EARTH ROAD.

THE AUTHOR and JOHN run down the road.

THE AUTHOR
(holding a beeping SONIC
DEVICE)
We're near!

JOHN
(panting - out of breath)
How far!?

THE AUTHOR
Roughly 100 meters. Come on!

JOHN
What!?

THE AUTHOR
It's a good thing you had that ice
cream, it'll keep your body
temperature right. Now come on!

The Author runs ahead, leaving John. John glares at The
Author for a second, then runs after him.

CUT TO:

18 CAFÉ.

ESMEÉ gets up. She has eaten 4 hamburgers. She turns to
the door-

PAN TO:

19 RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

RANTHÉ
Three of the Aréthnéans collected
via Astral Projector haven't had
the projections taken back
yet. You must do this!

EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS
Yes sir!

They press a button, and teleport.

CUT TO:

20 EARTH STREET/ROAD.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS appear. They pull out guns (like the Graske
have) and run.

CUT TO:

21 ROAD.

ESMEÉ walks down the road...

ESMEÉ
They must have located a fault by
now...

She gasps, as she sees the EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS running towards
her.

She turns, and runs.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
You cannot run from us! You are
only a projection, from which
energy is being drained!

They're right. She falters, completely out of breath
already. They walk to her, menacingly-

ESMEÉ
No, stop...

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Unfortunately, it's only going to
get worse from here.

Esmeé cringes as they hold up the guns-

THE AUTHOR
Being attacked by you ugly lot? I
don't think it could get much
worse.

John catches up, very tired. He is about to complain, until
he sees the Evil Aréthnéans, then stops.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Who are you?

THE AUTHOR
I don't know.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Then you can't stop us.

He fires at Esmeé. She screams, and disappears.

THE AUTHOR
What have you done to her?

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Her conciousness has been stored,
our Leader needs it.

Evil Aréthnéan 2 scans them.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN 2
This one [John] is human, but this
one... [author]

The Author realises he's in trouble.

THE AUTHOR
Yes, well-

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN 2
He does not identify with any known
species. He must be of a higher
intelligence-

THE AUTHOR
I have to agree with you there,
but-

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Take him to Ranthé.

They fire the gun - the Author disappears.

John is left with them.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
You are free to go, primitive.

They teleport away.

John stands there, in shock.

CUT TO:

22 RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

THE AUTHOR appears along with the EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS.

THE AUTHOR
That contravenes Galactic Law! No
teleport without consent! It's
Article 4 of the Shadow-

He stops.

THE AUTHOR
The Shadow... Shadow...

They look at him.

THE AUTHOR
Well, it was something like that...
But my point is-

EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN LEADER
Be silent.

The Author is silent. He notices Esmeé kept still by sonic
rays.

THE AUTHOR
Be careful with her, the living
conciousness is very
delicate. Where have you kept her
body?

RANTHE
(out of shot)
And why would I tell you that?

He enters.

RANTHÉ
You, the one person possibly
intelligent enough to stop me. I'm
Ranthé, by the way.

THE AUTHOR
Nice to meet you. But it's obvious
anyway... this looks like a
Cerebral deprocessing unit, so it
has to be down there.

He points down a corridor.

RANTHÉ
...Correct.

The Author smiles.

RANTHÉ
Kill him.

The evil Aréthnéans hold up their guns to him.

THE AUTHOR
No, wait!

He pulls out the SONIC DEVICE, and buzzes.

The sonic rays around Esmeé go out. She runs (or floats?)
over to him.

THE AUTHOR
Bad idea to restrain her with sonic
waves, when I have a device that
can channel them.

RANTHÉ
KILL THEM BOTH!!

But then, a warning alarm goes off. Everyone's attention
moves to it.

THE AUTHOR
Follow me!

The Author and Esmeé run down a corridor.

RANTHÉ
Stop them!

Mr Sneer enters.

MR SNEER
Sir! The Mantel Accelerator has
reached critical!

Ranthé thinks for a second.

RANTHÉ
It shouldn't have done that. But
that is more important, and
potentially apocalyptic. Destroy
several cooling pipes, I will have
to let them escape.

EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS
Yes sir!

CUT TO:

23 CORRIDOR.

THE AUTHOR and ESMEÉ run down a corridor.

ESMEÉ
My body is near here!

THE AUTHOR
Once we find it I can free it. But
I couldn't do very many, I simply
don't have enough power in my
Sonic.

They reach a cell.

ESMEÉ
Here!

The Author buzzes the SONIC DEVICE, and the cell opens
up. Esmeé's body falls out. Consciousness and flesh are
then reunited...

After a moment, unconscious Esmeé gasps.

THE AUTHOR
I'm glad that worked. Now we have
to stop Ranthé, I wonder what that-

He stops, realising. Esmeé is too busy recovering to notice
him.

THE AUTHOR
Nobody knew why... Ooh... Ranthé is
getting energy from the planet's
core, using who knows what sort of
technology? But it the slightest
error occurs in a vital point...
Boom...

ESMEÉ
(disorientated)
What?

THE AUTHOR
We need to stop Ranthé, immediatly!

He runs down the corridor frantically.

PAN TO:

24 EARTH. ROAD.

JOHN walks to THE TARDIS, looking unsure.

JOHN
He's gone...

Pause.

JOHN
Well, at least I'm home. I wonder
if he'll return for The Tardis?

He goes inside.

CUT TO:

25 INT. TARDIS.

JOHN
He didn't even lock it? Anyone
could get inside!

He walks to the control.

JOHN
What do I do now, Author?

CUT TO:

26 RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

MR SNEER
The crisis has been momentarily
dealt with.

RANTHÉ
Excellent! Now find the escaped
prisoners!

MR SNEER
Very good, sir.

CUT TO:

27 INT. TARDIS.

JOHN is inside.

JOHN
There's nothing I can
do... Author, where are you?

PAN TO:

28 EXT. RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

They are sneaking about.

ESMEÉ
We should go to the authorities,
immediatly!

THE AUTHOR
Nonsense, this is far beyond
them. They'd want to wait days for
a search warrant, and permission
and all that rubbish.

ESMEÉ
So?

THE AUTHOR
We might not have that time! That
alarm that went off could have been
the start of something
cataclysmic!

ESMEÉ
Like what?

THE AUTHOR
I shouldn't tempt fate. But the
point it, we can't afford to wait
for them to take action.

They hear EVIL ARÉTHNÉAN voices in the distance.

THE AUTHOR
This way, quickly! There may be a
side door somewhere!

They rush along the wall.

...

Followed shortly by the EVIL ARÉTHNÉANS.

CUT TO:

29 OUTSIDE DOOR.

THE AUTHOR and ESMEÉ sneak up to the door.

ESMEÉ
How are you going to stop him?

THE AUTHOR
I'll... find a way.

He opens the door.

RANTHÉ
Hello.

Ranthé smiles.

The guards appear behind them, holding up guns.

THE AUTHOR
Or not.

FADE TO:

30 RANTHÉ'S LABORATORY.

THE AUTHOR and ESMEÉ are shoved in, threatened with the
guns.

RANTHÉ
This has been most entertaining,
sir. But to let this go on anymore
would be verging on ridiculous.

THE AUTHOR
I agree, which is why I suggest-

RANTHÉ
Nothing! You will suggest...
nothing.

A warning beep goes off in the background. Ranthé is
concerned, but tries to hide it.

THE AUTHOR
This laboratory isn't stable, is it
Ranthé? All these alerts and-

RANTHÉ
Be silent.

THE AUTHOR
Considering something of this
magnitude, I'm the last of your
worries.

Ranthé thinks.

RANTHÉ
He's right. Mr Sneer, sort that
out!

Mr Sneer runs out.

THE AUTHOR
Thank you, that may just have saved
us all.

RANTHÉ
You understand this machinery?

THE AUTHOR
More or less. You're stealing
energy from the planet's core, am I
right?

RANTHÉ
Yes...

THE AUTHOR
But why? Why are you intercepting
the Astral Projections? And don't
say because you can.

RANTHÉ
Power! To begin with this has just
been experiments, to make sure I
can store the body and reunite it
successfully, which I can. Soon I
will interecept every projection,
then hold them hostage. They will
have no choice but to give in to my
demands, or face the wrath of
millions of Aréthnéans who have
lost their families.

THE AUTHOR
Or they'll turn against you.

RANTHÉ
They wouldn't dare.

A more serious alarm goes off.

THE AUTHOR
I don't like the sound of that...

RANTHÉ
Mr Sneer! What is happening?

MR SNEER
(off screen)
The readings have gone off the
scale, Mr-

RANTHÉ
WELL SORT IT!

Esmeé turns to The Author.

ESMEÉ
Shouldn't we escape?

THE AUTHOR
Esmeé, do you know what would
happen if that machinery went
critical?

ESMEÉ
It has never happened before,
because nobody has ever been able
to get through the crust. So no.

THE AUTHOR
Your planet would explode.

She gasps.

ESMEÉ
You have to stop him!

The alarms intensify.

The Author runs up to Ranthé.

THE AUTHOR
Ranthé, since we're both in danger
of being killed, what do you say
that we put aside our differences
and work together to stop this?

Ranthé thinks.

THE AUTHOR
I'm the only person intelligent
enough to stop it, but I can't
without knowing how it works, which
is why I need you.

Ranthé is very annoyed, but-

RANTHÉ
I... agree.

THE AUTHOR
Good! Now-

He turns.

BANG.

Ranthé is shot.

By...

MR SNEER.

MR SNEER
I'm sorry Mr Ranthé, but that was
no accident. I sabotaged the
machinery.

Ranthé gives him a look of pure loating, gasping for breath,
breath he cannot find...

Ranthé dies.

THE AUTHOR
You have just killed us all.

Esmeé looks at the Author, scared.

THE AUTHOR
You have just ended your
civilization.

Mr Sneer nods, terrified.

MR SNEER
I didn't mean to... I... just
wanted to stop him...

He turns the gun, and shoots himself.

The Author runs to the controls. Sparks fly off, and The
Author is thrown back.

AN EXPLOSION tears the wall apart from the side.

ESMEÉ
Author!!

THE AUTHOR
I couldn't stop it, Esmeé...

They both cower against the wall, waiting for the
inevitable...

Vworp vworp... Woosh... Woosh...

THE TARDIS materialises!

Esmeé is confused.

JOHN walks out.

JOHN/THE AUTHOR
Author/John!

Another explosion.

THE AUTHOR
Inside!!

They rush inside.

CUT TO:

31 INT. TARDIS.

They rush inside.

THE AUTHOR darts around the controls, as the Tardis takes
off.

THE AUTHOR
(busy)
Did you use to return switch?

JOHN
Yes, just like you taught me!

THE AUTHOR
I was right to let you come with
me. And of course, the Tardis
picked up my genetic code and took
you to where I was!

ESMEÉ
I'm not going to question how this
is bigger on the inside, it's
obvious you are far more
intelligent than us. But tell me
Author, what happened to Aréthnéa?

The Author says nothing. He sets the courses...

Thud.

THE AUTHOR
Esmeé...

He opens the door.

CUT TO:

32 SPACE.

THE TARDIS is in space, orbiting a BURNING CINDER.

CUT TO:

33 INT. TARDIS.

THE AUTHOR
I took you forwards in time one
year.

ESMEÉ
Aréthnéa... gone?

She starts crying.

ESMEÉ
My family... No, no, NO!

John moves to the Author.

JOHN
What will we do with her.

The Author says nothing.

FADE TO:

34 EARTH, A PARK.

ESMEÉ, JOHN and THE AUTHOR are sitting on a benc. Esmeé is
sad, but has stopped crying.

THE AUTHOR
Earth is a nice planet,
Esmeé. You'll look human, thanks
to the fact you've been here in the
astral projection.

ESMEÉ
I... thank you.

THE AUTHOR
Don't thank me. I should have
saved Aréthnéa.

JOHN
Author, you said it was always
going to happen. Maybe you just
couldn't stop it?

THE AUTHOR
Or I didn't try hard enough...

ESMEÉ
So are you two just going to...
continue travelling?

The Author looks at John.

JOHN
I guess so.

THE AUTHOR
Esmeé... would you like to come
with us?

ESMEÉ
(firmly)
No.

THE AUTHOR
(taken aback)
Oh. Okay then.

ESMEÉ
No way could I have to go through
something like that again.

THE AUTHOR
I understand.

He turns.

THE AUTHOR
Come on, John.

ESMEÉ
Goodbye...

The Author looks back at her, then enters the Tardis.

JOHN
Bye, Esmeé.

He follows The Author into the Tardis.

It dematerialises.

Leaving Esmeé alone...
