My eyes snapped open and I looked around the room. Where was I? And how did I get here? I was bound by my hands and sitting in a chair. The room was all white and metallic. I didn't see any clear signs of a door. But I could tell there was one by the sudden bulge in front of me. I struggled against the bonds but they were too strong. My feet were still free though.

I couldn't remember how I got here. Or even what here is. Actually, I couldn't remember anything. I knew my name was Raven and I'm eighteen years old. That's it. Something must have happened that caused me to loose most of my memories. An accident or concussion would be logical.

The door opened in front of me from the wall and in walked two masked guys with black armor and red accents. They seemed like something from a science fiction game that I used to play when I was little at an arcade. One stood in front of me and the other behind me. In walked another person, this time a girl. She too had the armor but without the mask and the accents was orange. She walked with an air of importance and I instantly knew this was going to be fun. She stood in front of me and crossed her arms.

"Where am I?" I dared to ask.

"You will not ask the questions, we will. And you will answer." I rolled my eyes at her. Yeah, this is going to be fun.

"I'm not answering anything because I don't know anything," I replied.

"There's two ways to do this." The girl leaned closer to me. "The easy way, or the hard way." So, it's going to be good cop bad cop, huh? I can play your games. And I intend to win.

I spit into her face. She recoiled back and wiped it off. Her look of disgust quickly turned to humor. To my surprise, she started to laugh at me. It was some inside joke that she knew but I didn't.

"What's so funny?" I sneered. She laughed a bit more, which I was getting annoyed of.

"If you knew what was really coming, you'd at least act a bit more polite." The door opened again and this time a guy walked in. He went up to the girl and whispered something in her ear. While they were distracted, I tried to break the bonds again but they still wouldn't break.

"Paige, the Renegade has been spotted again." I stopped and listened in to their conversation.

"Where's the Monitor? He's supposed to capture him," Paige said. It seems like these two have a situation that I can use to my advantage.

"He's missing, remember? We can assume he's not coming back." She looked at me and then the guy.

"Make sure she doesn't escape." She left the room and pushed back the new guy.

"So, who's this Renegade?" I asked. The guy smirked and walked around me.

"You've caused a lot of trouble lately," he said. "What's your secret?" I have a secret? Wow, this is so sudden. My secret must be that…

"I don't remember anything," I explained. How about that for a secret?

"Why play dumb? It's useless. We'll find out the truth one way or another." He stopped in front of me and smirked.

"Well, I plan not to be here when you do," I remarked. I struggled a bit against the bonds. I wanted to just break free and punch this guy right in the jaw. Let's see how tough he is when I'm free.

The guy nodded and the guy behind me put a hand on my shoulder. I struggled even harder but the bonds kept me from doing anything. I felt a slight pressure on my wrist, like some one was tampering with the bonds. The pressure went away and then there was nothing.

I jumped up and punched the guy in the mouth. He staggered back and leaned up against the wall. One of the guards came at me but the one that helped me punched him in the gut. I kicked the guy in the side of the face and he was knocked out cold. The other guard was as well.

"Follow me," the rouge guard said. He opened the door and grabbed my hand. I had no choice but to follow him. I tried to keep up but he just ended up pulling me along.

"What's going on?" I asked between breaths. We came to a stop in front of an elevator. The doors opened and we ran inside. I was surprised not to hear alarms. And it seemed like he noticed too. That can't be good.

The guard dropped his mask and the guy standing before me was, well, cute in a way. He had shaggy brown hair that was swept off to one side. His eyes were a dark brown that had some light to them, but held back a lot of sadness.

"You're lucky I was there," he said. I rolled my eyes but smiled a bit.

"I sure am." The elevator doors opened and we ran out to large garage type room. Vehicles of all kind lined the floor. I even saw some jets on the ceiling. But I've never seen these kinds before. They were black and had red glowing stripes. They reminded me of the guard's armor.

"This way!" The guy waved over to me to a jet that was on the ground. I looked at it warily and then back at him.

"Why should I trust you?" I asked. He sighed and looked down at his armor. I guess he thought he was wearing something else by his look. Then he shrugged and walked over to the front of the jet.

"You can't. But you either come with me and live, or stay here." He hopped on the jet and looked at me. "Well?" I looked over my shoulder and saw guards running after us. I leaped up and landed behind him.

"I thought so." I could hear a smirk in his voice.

The jet was unlike anything I've ever seen. It was all open and had two slim wings. It looked like we were sitting on what was holding the wings together. And that's basically what it was.

As soon as he started the jet, the color changed from red to a light blue. His red armor changed to blue too. The jet lifted into the air and I wrapped my arms around his waist. I looked over my shoulder at the guards below and saw that they were getting on their own jets. But I saw something else among the red.

A figure was making his way to a yellow jet. His mask covered his face but something about the way he walked reminded me of someone. He strode over to the yellow jet that matched his armor and got on. He saw me looking at him and nodded. My hero also saw him and sped away.

Straight ahead was an opening. We went through it at full speed. I could hear the other jets behind me. The light outside blinded me and I shield my eyes with one hand. We were on the edge of a huge city that had a strange blue glow. I looked behind me and saw that we came out of a huge red and black ship.

"What is this place?" I asked. I looked over the city as we dodged bullets from the other jets.

"This is home," he replied. Our jet weaved in and out of skyscrapers. Explosions came from behind but I didn't look back. I was scared to see the other pilot's fates. The sky was dark and the whole place seemed ominous.

"When I give the signal, jump," the hero looked over his shoulder. I stared at him like he was nuts.

"Are you crazy?!" I asked. I felt heat on my back as another jet crashed.

"More or less. Now!" The jet disappeared beneath me and I was set into a freefall. My rescuer grabbed my hand and we spun into the air. The top of a building was coming up fast. I braced myself as we crashed into the concrete. We rolled and stopped right before the edge.

I stood up not feeling anything damaged and helped the hero up. He rolled his shoulder and looked over the city.

"Now, tell me who you are," I said going into a fighting stance. He may have saved my life, but I still didn't know who he was.

"Beck, who are you?" He turned and I relaxed my stance.

"Raven." I screamed as my head suddenly felt like it was going to explode. My vision went fuzzy and my ears filled with a ringing. I fell to the ground holding my temples. Beck ran to my side and helped me stand up. But I couldn't. He was trying to say something but I couldn't hear. Then there was nothing.
