You heard it first from CBC News, the world is coming to an end in 2088 says NASA scientists. They say that a large meteor is heading straight for Earth and the impact will wipe every spec of life off this planet. Everyone prepare for the worst and enjoy life while it lasts. As Dr. Alexander Morgan stared at his television in disbelief, he thought if his life was actually a worth while experience or just a complete mess. He has won the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of twenty-three last year, the youngest person to ever do so by discovering a cure for cancer in the Amazon jungle (a plant named cannabis) met and married an amazing women: Jasmine Harris at a rare party at the University of Harvard, and has the most entertaining and supportive friends ever, but Alex has always never found something that challenged him, pushed him to his limits to be honest, but this might be something to prove that he is the most superior scientist alive.
"Hello Josh?, are you seeing the news?" calling Josh Thompson his best friend was right because Josh always has an opinion on his work and Alex has an idea of trying to save the world from the meteor by intercepting it with a missile, which might destroy the meteor or could also backfire and finish off the human civilization, but it might be the only home this planet has of surviving the impact.
"Alex I can seriously not believe it, can you just wake me up dude, this is messed up shit"
"Yea, I'm calling Jasmine and Ryan after this, but they probably know about it, it's all over town bro, but I think I might actually have a plan to save us all" said Alex with confidence that he actually knew what he was doing but he definitely had no clue if it was actually going to work or not without the help of some high class people in the government.
"Hey Alex don't get me wrong your a smart guy and all but are you serious bro?
"Yes I am and this country and this world can properly execute this plan but I need you, Jasmine, Ryan and some "high powered" people in the government to help out" Ryan went to Oxford University and studied the solar system and the possible other galaxies and Jasmine went to Harvard with him to study almost the exact same thing with the exception of a few world history studies and biology.
"I'm behind you all the way on this, I just hope you aren't making a huge mistake here, you could be saving us but you might also be putting the final nail in the coffin" Josh was obviously worried about this whole plan that Alex has probably thought up in ten minutes, but he's got to admit that if they could properly execute this whole thing, they might be recognized in all the history books for saving the human society.
"Ok keep in touch brother, going to ring up Jasmine and Ryan later, bye"
"Sure thing bye, I just got to suck it all in that the world might actually be coming to an end, shit" as he hanged up, Alex was definitely ready to take on this challenge, something that has really been missing from his life. An hour later, he called Ryan.
"Hey Ryan, you hear what the fuck happened?"
"No shit bro... I'm just happy its not ending in a few years rather than in forty-forty-five years" he said trying to see the bright side in this horrendous predicament.
"True, also can you help me with something I brainstormed in a few minutes?, I'm trying to intercept the meteor with a missile, which you Jasmine, Josh, I and a few fellow members of the government could create. The plan could work perfectly or I'll seal our fate"
"I knew you would come up with something Alex, you always do, so I'm definitely in, I've got your back 110%, bros before foes"
"I really appreciate it, talk to you later Ryan" he said with joy as he has both of his good friends on board with the idea.
"No problem really, you could really use my genius, just pulling your leg buddy haha, bye" and as he hanged up, Alex just had to get his wife on board with it and the Canadian government, then his plan will go into effect.
"Hey Jasy"
"Hey, you see the news right sweetheart?" I have this amazing plan of somehow intercepting the meteor with this large missile that hopefully we, as in Ryan, Josh, you and I could create it, perhaps with the help with the United Nations and the government to provide us with a few resources.
"That is why I married you, I have exactly the same idea! Josh and Ryan are already on board with the idea, next week, I'll contact the Canadian government to try and provide us with the resources and materials to assemble the missile"
"Wow that's just fantastic to hear Alex", when I get home, I'll really give you something to be happy about.
"Really? What?" Alex said, to just confirm his assumption.
"Haha you'll find out, but It might get really hot " and she hanged up. He was obviously not happy about the news about the world ending but he was ecstatic about his friends having his back on his plan and Jasmine with a hot surprise when she came home, which really got him excited because she is also a sexy model in her part time on the weekends. The doorbell rang and he heard a familiar voice: Jasy. He opened the door and greeted her into their 3 storey single house right beside English Bay.
"Hey sweetie how was work at the lab?" he gave her a kiss on the cheek
"Fine as usual but as you heard on the news, not your typical Wednesday afternoon seeing the NASA leading scientist confirm that the world is going to end... just really sucks shit"
"Well lets just enjoy tonight and discuss it tomorrow" he kissed her on the neck and took off her leather coat, then unclipped her bra , finally took off her panty, doing all this while carrying her to the bedroom"
"We shall discuss it tomorrow" she giggled and closed the bedroom door. Next morning was awaken by a loud annoying alarm clock. As Alex turned it off, he said
"Last night was amazing Jasy" you learned a few new moves, he kissed her on the cheek.
"So did you" she winked and put on her lab coat and got dressed to go to work.
"Ryan and Josh are coming tonight to discuss the whole idea, when you get home from work"
"That sounds great, I'm really looking forward to it" they kissed again and she left for her sports car. As Alex closed the door, he had the whole day free to do whatever he wanted because he finished all his paper work in the lab and has gotten the day off. He took a long shower, showering off all the heat and tension from last night and thought hard about what the missile would look like intercepting the meteor, what kind of impact it would have on the fragile Earth. The rest of the day, was just laying back and watching sports. At 7:00 PM, he heard the doorbell rang and the voices of Ryan and Josh. He let them in and told them how the evening was going to look like.
"Thanks for coming guys, it means a lot, but I promised Jasy we'll wait for her, so let's just chill for the moment" Alex knew he needed Jasmine because she always has a good idea to contribute which was in no compression to our answers...
"How about TSN? the Canucks are on against the Wild" Josh said while turning to channel 110.
"Joshy have they won a cup yet? the Canucks?"
"Actually still no, the fans are actually losing hope on the team because all the other NHL teams have.... its been over eighty years for them, just sucks"
"Wow that is really a bummer, hopefully they can pull something off this year, or the next..." the doorbell rang and Josh went to get the door. Jasmine was there with her suitcase of chemicals and her wavy hair with the breeze of the wind messing it up again and again.
"Hey guys have you started the discussion already?" she said putting her suitcase down and fainted on the couch.
"Not yet Jasy, we were just talking about sports stuff, I promised you that we would start when you get home remember?" Alex confirmed
"Right, ok I'll get the wine and we can sit down and talk. Wait can you guys drink?"
"We're both talking taxi, don't worry Jasmine" the guys sat down and she brought the wine to the table.
"Ok Alex what's your full plan? Josh said
"My plan is that we contact David Johnston tomorrow and try and get him to organize a meeting with Stephen Harper, so we can ask to get the proper resources in order to create the missile, then tell him our plan of intercepting it with it."
"That sounds great, but what if Mr. Harper doesn't allow us to build it or provide us with the resources?" Ryan asked concerned
"Then Ryan, we might just have to get them ourselves. We have a lot of time before the meteor is even close to hitting us, no need to be concerned or worried." but there was some indecisiveness in Alex's mind.
"Alright guys, I guess there's not much else to do now, Me and Ryan will be coming over tomorrow, just in case you needed our help with anything.
"Sounds great, see you tomorrow and remember to take the taxi! The police are always on full force these days..." Jasmine said as she went to go wash the remaining dishes from dinner
"Yes Jasmine!" They both said with a childish voice and shut the door to there house.
"So Jasy, we still have a couple hours you know"
"Haha not tonight Alex, really stressful day at work and not to mention that I haven't yet recovered from last night, but I do would love a massage and see where it goes from there" she giggled silently, but loud enough for him to notice
"No problem, I'll get the table out of the bedroom and place it in the living room ok?"
"Why do we need a table when we have a soaker tub?" she led his hand to their master bedroom and made a turn to their bathroom.
"Now that's what I'm talking about" as he said when he saw that she has already prepared the steamy water with candles. She shut off the lights and they made the room light up and very romantic. Jasmine looked stunning as ever. Her lustrous body made the water go ah, and her hands were like the touch of a feather, so smooth, silky and warm. The laid back side of her was really coming out these few days and he was going to enjoy every second of it before things start to get more busier. After the massage, they both put their robes on but the fun was just beginning.
"Jasy, I thought you didn't want--"
"shh, let me give you the best night you've ever had". She went to turn off the lights and the candles in the bedroom lit up, a fresh scent echoed around the room. She took off her robe then his and pushed him aggressively onto the bed. This definitely will be the best night for a long time.
The next day, they both awoke to the sound of nothing... they forgot to set the alarm, and it was now 12:00PM pacific which meant it was 3:00PM in Ottawa!
"Alex wake up!" she yelled and he literally fell off of their king bed.
"WHAT WHAT" he reacted as if they were getting robbed.
"It's 12:00PM we've overslept!. Josh and Ryan will be here any minute expecting us ready to make the call to Mr .Johnston but we haven't even gotten out of bed!
"Shit, well let's both hurry up then" they both dressed, brushed their teeth, ate a quick snack, and just in the nick of time they heard the doorbell ring.
"Coming!" but as they opened the door, they were greeted by two police officers. One was about 6'0 tall, dark hair and a medium build, the other was shorter about 5'10 with also dark hair but less of a build, kind of skinny.
"This is the Morgan residents am I correct?" the taller one said in a deep tone
"Yes... it is, what can we do for you officers?" Alex replied
"First of all congrats Mr. Morgan on the Nobel prize, I've been a great fan of your work and your discovery has saved my mother from the horrendous disease: cancer. Second, your friend Josh Rodriguez has been transported to the hospital this morning in a serious car accident." the other officer reported
"That's awful!" Jasmine had her tears streaming down her face
"What's his condition"? Alex said, while at the same time tried to comfort Jasy.
"He has life threatening injuries to his head and upper body, but doctor's think he will make it"
"That's good to hear." Alex finally said
"Nice meeting you Morgan's, have a nice day. If your wondering, he's staying at Vancouver General Hospital, room 21." and they both left for their police cruiser.
"That's some god awful news to start the morning..." Jasmine said, still wiping off her tears.
"Really is, I better call Ryan to tell him this." As he went to get the phone, the doorbell rang once again, but this time, Alex recognized the familiar voice of Ryan.
"Hello Ryan, did you hear..." he said with a soft but firm voice
"Yes I heard, god I feel awful. I fuckin told him to take the bus with me to your house today, but he insisted to drive here..."
"It's not your fault, stop giving yourself a hard time..., go home take a shower and try to relive the tension. Let's call Mr. Johnston tomorrow ok? and go visit Josh
"Thanks Alex, I'll try. Bye guys." and he left.
"Wow, talk about a impulsive morning." Jasmine said and went to take a hot shower
"You can say that again." Alex knows that the roller coaster ride has only reached the ticket booth.
