The universe popped like a big black starry balloon, unraveling, mixing the threads of our reality with whatever lay outside of its domain. It happened with a blink of an eye, as if God had rearranged, changed all of the pieces and laws in life. At the exact moment it had happened, everyone had fallen to sleep to a wake from their slumber feeling as if they were in a cocktail of everyone else’s dreams, like they died and were born again into a new reality. From that moment on a new era began full of fantasy and nightmares.1

2 years later...2

Anthony was aboard the starship Midnight, a Black, windowless exterior, hiding out in a lonely asteroid field. He had just finished building his robotic duplicate to explore the universe named Quantum. It would be controlled through his brain waves and quantum entanglement, relaying sensory input like he was actually there, over any distance. His duplicate didn’t look like him neither like a robot. Quantum was tall and lengthy with an athletic build. Quantum’s dressing style was a cross between an explorer and detective. Quantum was a safer means of interacting with the environment, without him Anthony would continue to waste his life away. He had many functions embedded into his core systems such as a quantum transporter, metamorphic shielding, and transforming skeleton.3

Anthony put Quantum into his closet to rest; tomorrow both their adventures would begin. Looking out of the side-wall view screen, his imagination of all of the possibilities out there, plausible or otherwise, played like rowdy children in the back of his mind. It was a scary but thrilling notion, adventuring into a dangerous and unpredictable world than what he had grown accustomed to, to actually be apart of life for a change, to really be ones self.4

"I'm actually doing this...I can't believe it, almost feels unreal," Anthony thought out loud.5

Anthony snuck into his bed and stared off into his ceilings view screen, out into the vibrant colored galaxies, wondering where he should start exploring first. Then he slowly drifted off to sleep with too many questions entering his mind like fireflies leaving knotted trails of light...6

A dream started to ensemble itself to life in the outskirts of Anthony’s subconscious, connecting his soul to Night-sweets, the dream network. It connected groups of people into their own bubble universe, where everyone is given a role like in a play, to interact and escape from themselves in a world that didn’t alter their real lives. 7

Anthony found himself playing the part of: rogue Time-travel Agency’s Simon Rugs, out to change his life for the better. He was just an ordinary guy with extraordinary circumstances. He knew a guy, that knew a guy, that knew a guy, ect… that was able to get him a position as: Monitor of Time, it sounded more glamorous than it actually was. He qualified for his position, based on the advance science classes he had taken and keen eye for details.8

Every day at work, Simon Rugs would be plagued by his past regrets and inactions, always knowing that there was a way to change his life for the better, to have it be so close yet so far away, a forbidden fruit he hungered to taste. 9

He had a few close friends, but the majority of his time was spent by himself staring at the holographic display, with way too much quiet time for dark daydreams. Anthony had followed the rules all throughout his life, always trying to be his best and make responsible choices but he wanted to escape all of that, have a vacation from perfection, from himself.10

Simon Rugs was deep in thought, contemplating all of his devilish plans, analyzing all of the possible outcomes when Sara Rain snuck up on him. 11

"Did I startle you again, Mr.?" 12

Simon just smiled once again, pondering how he should respond. Couldn't really tell her the truth: That he hated his life here, that he was plotting against the agency, and could never with all these uncertainties, ask: "Ms., would you like to come too?"13

"Why do I get the feeling that I rather be inside your mind than outside?"14

"Oh, I’m sorry; there is nothing really on my mind."15

"Now, only if that statement wasn’t presented with the body language of a bad liar," Anthony thought.16

“Mr. was my persona party to those thoughts of yours?”17

“That is top secret information; you’re not cleared to know.”18

“Guess I will have to torture you for it. Wouldn’t be all that difficult, seeing you’re not a real secret agent”19

Sara Rain was employed as a Time viewer/ recorder; a historian who researches time in a disconnected fashion on a holodeck. Her nickname was, Guardian Angel.
