Author's note:I'm not quite sure if I
want to continue this. If anyone of you think it is good please
comment and tell me if you would like to read more. If I don't get
enough people who like the concept I will probably drop it. Btw the
tittle is supposed to be In the Dark, but it was taken.
We are all in the dark. That is how it is. For some that is how it has always been. A disease took sight from every human on Earth. It was extremely contagious and impossible to contain. Oh they tired, but it was a failure. As always rumor has it Europe still has sight, but they likely say the same about us. It doesn't matter. We could never cross an ocean in our condition.
Many believed perhaps children wouldn't get it from their parents. As though they could somehow have gotten an immunity to it, but no. They are born blind. They are born in the dark.
This is not a story that can end with happiness. Real life never does. If you want a feel-good happy ending I suggest this: Put this book down and read something else. This is a story of betrayal, of sadness, of cruelty. You could say it is also a story of love, but truly it is only a sub-plot. It is a story of the evils of man. This book can have no true conclusion because the story is still being created, but I feel the need to record it anyway.
The story begins with a small girl asking a simple question. A question that is nearly impossible to answer. This is where I should begin.
