A bottled up emotion
Is a virus in the lysogenic cycle.
Beware of this intruder, or foreign entity,
That has entered your body
For the sole purpose of inflicting pain.
Relentlessly, the emotion will travel
Through your blood stream
And manipulate itself into millions of copies,
Stored within the confines of your blood cells.
The cycle, far worse than the opposing one,
The lytic version,
Maintains two distinct phases.
A dormant phase
Where emotion is concealed
And no symptoms and side effects are apparent.
The dormancy isn’t real sleep
As the virus works its way around your body,
From one cell to another.
Pain isn’t outwardly felt
And you believe yourself
To be a healthy, human specimen.
Sleep and differentiation continue only for so long,
Until a random moment when the emotion “awakes”
And activates all the dormant cells,
Initiating an auto-immune war between your own cells
And your worldly body.
Eruption: the emotion comes from seemingly nowhere
And eats at you, killing your will for life.
Heed my warning –
When emotions are troubling you,
Turn on the switch for a lytic emotion,
One that attacks right away.
You will be overwhelmed but only for a mere instant.
The virus will soon leave;
There will be no storage,
No growth of anger and pain,
No attack that isn’t planned,
And no need for a tactic at survival.
From now on, allow yourself no bottled up emotions.
