Savannah sits there playing with her sleeve while crazy techno music (Inspector Gadget Techno Remix by ?) is playing in the background. She sits there staring at Kade while he chews on his lip. Sometimes he looks down at his wrist as if a watch is there. But there isn’t. All he does is stare at his bare skin before looking back at her growing a little impatient.
Savannah, 7, is tearing through old draws searching for something.
Savannah sinks in her seat and stares at her shoes for a bit while chewing on her lower lip, too. Still all Kade does is stare at her.
Savannah stops and she pulls out an old picture. In the picture is of her mother and father standing in front of a giant ship that is currently being worked on. It is long, sleek, metal that has “U.S.S. Savannah Storm” written across the front.
Finally, Savannah sits up straight and looks up at Kade.
She watches as Kade stops chewing on his lip and all he does is watch her awaiting her spoken words.
I think it must be in my blood.
I don’t follow.

the lucky ones who left earth.

or not. Nobody cares.
Well I guess that’s one way to look at it.

She leaps to her feet standing up on the chair before jumping onto the table. Soon she is holding the tray her food came on and throws it across the room. Kade leans forward a bit to avoid being hit by the tray. It soars across the room towards a human police officer walking towards them. It hits him in the face startling him a bit. Then she pulls him to his feet but Kade then helps her off the table. He grabs her hand racing away. The head towards the counter where the people duck behind for cover. Soon they are racing out the back way of the restaurant back into the city streets.
Savannah continues to pull out similar pictures of either Tolen or Tolen and his star ship.
Kade pulls her through a maze of alleyways behind glass and plastic buildings before they come to what appears to be a dead end.
Chandra walks into the room. She looks around yawning and stretching before her eyes fall upon Savannah staring at one picture of Tolen. His foot is on the ship while he points at the name of the ship. Her name.
Chandra yells at Savannah but it is silent. She grabs onto the pictures and almost tears the one in her hand.
Kade pushes Savannah backs as he too takes a step back. The ground opens and they climb down into the darkness.
Savannah sits there sobbing as Chandra runs away sobbing.
Savannah puts her feet on the ground and stands there looking out at the Underworld. It is the city that once stood there or most of it at least. After years of it being outdated, the city was buried underground that way new buildings could rise into the air. All around her is camp. People who are in this gang set everything up to live there. She takes a few steps forward staring out at everything. There aren’t too many lights but just enough to create a mysterious image of the decrepit city that lies before her feet.
