Big News for you scrabsnob followers: I'm a college kid now! Just signed up for four years at a local private university (hooray!). Unfortunately, I have a feeling that the hard times have "only just begun," as the Carpenters would say, since I'm paying my own way through. :-( Anyway, the upshot for Booksie is more writing (now that I occasionally can sneak some spare time to write). Maybe not as much as some of the prolific poets, prose publishers, and pedants on here, but more than before.

Book Shoutout... I just started reading "The House at Midnight" by Lucie Whitehouse, and those reading this should absolutely borrow a copy and give it a try. The book itself is Whitehouse's first novel and centers on a group of university friends who stay in an old English mansion on the weekends...but, what has really impressed me so far is the quality of the writing. Her metaphors and similes are amazing, her method of description lyrical and breathtaking in its clarity. I've barely made it into the third chapter, and already I am impressed by how much I am enjoying (and being entertained by) the author's raw, accessible, and intelligent writing style. Read it and tell me what you think!

Hello, readers...readers of what, I'm not sure. I haven't added anything in a few weeks, but I have been writing - a lot. I just don't think you want to read what I've been working on...very, very boring scholarship essays and letters. Bores me even to write about writing them. So I guess I'll do a little reviewing 'til I have something fun to read. Then I will annoy all of you with notices!

Yes, it's true, I love House, M.D. more than any other show on TV. It's the only one that expects you to tune in with your brain turned on...so a little shout-out to them. I especially like the main character, because he has those rare traits in today's world...brutal honesty and logical thinking. I'm not a big fan of the social contract of "do unto others," because it will never get you ahead - only trampled over by the herd. I mean, life isn't usually like Booksie, where you trade polite reviews for polite reviews.

Seriously, be brutally honest in your reviews. I have no problem with criticism so long as it is not solely for it's own purpose. And I won't visit your page just to post mean things, I promise. Well, despite being a seventeen-year-old technology geezer, I think I've figured out the site. So, what to expect next? A better "Avatar" (I'm the one on the bottom, incidentally) AND More stories!
