My November Book of the Month Choice:

'The Faerie Path' by Frewin Jones

alt

"One alone will walk both worlds; Daughter last of daughters seven."

The Faerie Path, a novel by the British author Frewin Jones, is the first book of a series. The story sets a teenage girl in a predicament: choosing what life she wishes - the life she has known since birth or a life she never knew she had, where she is a princess who must save a kingdom. According to a review, this "floral Faerie tale may unspool at a measured pace, but girls will likely take to Anita. ... A well-executed reference to Romeo and Juliet gives the finale a bit more punch than most fantasy romances."

On the eve of Anita's sixteenth birthday, boating with her boyfriend Evan, she is in an accident which sends her to the hospital. Upon awakening, she is frightened to find that Evan is not yet awake, although nothing is wrong with him. As the clock strikes midnight, Anita's parents give her one of her presents to brighten her mood. The present, wrapped in a postal envelope with no return address, is a very beautiful book, but the pages are blank.

Anita's parents leave her to rest, but Anita cannot. She explores the book, which suddenly has a story written inside. The story tells about a lost princess, the seventh of seven daughters, who has become trapped in the Mortal World on her sixteenth birthday, the night before she was to marry Lord Gabriel Drake. Anita finds herself needing to check two bites on her back and searches the hospital for a mirror. Once in the bathroom, she grows wings and flies out the window. She flies above London for a moment before London fades away and all she can see is the Thames river and Hampton Court.

Suddenly her wings wither away and she falls. Found in the hospital bathroom by a nurse, she is returned to her bed, still worried about Evan not waking. The nurse brings Anita a gift addressed to her, from Evan's belongings. The gift is a neckless that she quickly puts around her neck. She sleeps, and when she awakens, Evan is gone. A ghostly image appears to Anita, the image of Gabriel Drake, calling her to follow him. Anita does and he leads her out onto a balcony where Lord Drake urges her to focus strongly on him so she can reach him. Anita tries her hardest to focus on him and suddenly their hands meet in the air. Lord Drake pulls Anita from the Mortal realm, and Anita soon learns there is more to her than she ever imagined.

There is always something to say about me.  First off, I'm really weird.  My birthday is June 23rd.  I am the youngest in my family of five.  I have two older brothers with autism.

I've been writing since I was eight but I just writing solidly since I joined Booksie a little bit more than a year ago.  A YEAR!  *shrieks*  I still can't believe that I've been at Booksie.com for a flipping year!  It is so amazing to me.  May 28th was my first year anniversary!  I am determined to get it to two years!

If you are unfortunate enough to get me interested in one of your stories, you will quickly discover that I am randomly weird.  I will say the stupidest things that you will hopefully find funny rather than putoffish but that's just me.  I usually type out whatever I'm thinking and BE WARNED!  I RANT!  I say again, if you are unlucky enough that your novel catches my attention, you will be bombarded with the stupidest things every said/typed in history!  And it WILL be extensive.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

92% of teens would die if Edward Cullen said it was uncool to breathe.  Put this in your profile if you were part of the 8% that laughed.

Now that you know some useless information about me, I am pleased to give a big THANK YOU to my "Support Group": A group of people who, may or may not know that they've helped me so much:  Tremaine Raisa, Chicka19, Poet3, and Divena!!!  Another special THANK YOU to MissBritian101.  Without her, "Seven Fairies of Power" would simply be rotting away in the cyberworld.  She, more or less, pushed and shoved until I finally put up more chapters.  All credit for the continuation of "Seven Fairies of Power" goes to her!

I LOVE getting emails.  Drop me a line at: creative_writer07@yahoo.com.  Don't be embarrassed to just say 'hey!'.  I love knowing what you all think about my writing.   If you'd like the short cut version, then send me an IM at Psycholady402@yahoo.com.  Just make sure you tell me who you are or else I won't accept the conversation!
