Children are screaming
people are dying
widows are praying
wondering why.
Beasts are scratching
Cars are crashing
hearts are breaking
I'm tongue tied.
But one day there was a man on the street
He asked 'Hey, when can we meet?'
And he spoke these thoughtful words
As we spent the day spying on birds
He said 'lifes a game, a riddle, a rhyme'
And it only gets better over time.
over time,
Over time,
Over time.
Soldiers are fighting
guns are shooting
Souls are jumping
as they wave goodbye
Blades are slicing
dreams are crushing
Winds are approaching
as people hold on to life.
But one day there was a man on the street
He asked 'Hey, when can we meet?'
And he spoke these thoughtful words
As we spent the day spying on birds
He said 'lifes a game, a riddle, a rhyme'
And it only gets better over time.
over time,
Over time,
Over time.
Then I looked around,
And I understood,
That along with the bad,
Comes the good.
Mouths are kissing
hands are holding
lungs are breathing
As babies are born.
Stars are falling
feet are playing
eyes are sparkling
as a promise is sworn.
But one day there was a man on the street
He asked 'Hey, when can we meet?'
And he spoke these thoughtful words
As we spent the day spying on birds
He said 'lifes a game, a riddle, a rhyme'
And it only gets better over time.
over time,
Over time,
Over time.
