The Painting
By D W Phoenix
Let me paint your face upon my dreams
I won’t hide the scars or the lines beneath your eyes
For to me there’s so much beauty
In the woman that I see before my eyes
It’s what you are that I love
Not the shell your bodies in
To me that type of beauty
Is only as deep as the skin your in
Some women don’t feel sexy
Their not happy with their charms
But it’s not about the way you look
It’s about the way you make me feel in your arms
Every line and contour
Are marks of beauty on your face
That is what the truth of beauty really means
Let me paint your face on my dreams
For my dreams will be my canvass
That I’ll paint your face upon
Let life itself become my palette
That I take the colours from
And the brushes that I need
I will make from strands of time
So the depth of every colour
Shows deep in every line
I will capture all your beauty
The way that it appears
As I clean of all my brushes
In a jar that’s full of tears
And when you see your painting
You will know just what it means
As you watch your beauty radiate
Through your painting on my dreams
