Clockwork Doll

Poetry By: AndreaPykett
Song lyrics

Ok, so this isn't really poetry: it's the lyrics to a song I made up. I put it to some music and I'd love some feedback on my song lyric abilities :)

What's that sitting there,

Covered in rust.

Lacy blue dresses,

Gath'ring dust.

Old forgotten d - o - l - l - s…

***

Grab my key.

Wind me up.

Watch me turn:

Stiff legs, stiff arms,

I'm just a clockwork doll, doll, doll, doll.

***

Porcelain faces,

Rose red lips.

Long soft golden hair,

Paint that chips.

Drop me and I'll s - m - a - s - h…

***

Grab my key.

Wind me up.

Watch me turn:

Stiff legs, stiff arms,

I'm just a clockwork doll, doll, doll, doll, doll, doll, doll, doll.

***

One more turn for now,

Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Slow and slower still,

Tick, tock, tick.

Just a clockwork d - o - l - l…

***

Grab my key.

Wind me up.

Watch me turn:

Stiff legs, stiff arms,

I'm just a clockwork doll, doll, doll, doll, doll, doll, doll.

I'm just a clockwork doll, doll, doll.

I'm just a clockwork doll.
