There You Lay (Lyrics)

Poetry By: Colton Cotton
Song lyrics

This song is dedicated to a guy I used to know who committed suicide. He was in a coma shortly before passing.

There you lay
With your eyes wide open
Bloodshot and astray
And no words that I say
Can wake you up
Bring you to this day, oh
But I will hold your hand
And won't let go, no I won't let go
Don't let this be the end
No you can't leave me here
To walk this world alone
To walk this world alone
I will hold your hand
The things you used to say
The songs we used to play
Oh, all those memories we made
How can you let it all go to waste
And try to outrun fate
But I will keep praying
As long as you keep breathing
But I will hold your hand
And won't let go, no I won't let go
Don't let this be the end
No you can't leave me here
To walk this world alone
To walk this world alone
I will hold your hand
After all of the things that we've done
And the life that we've begun (we've begun)
How could you just pull the trigger
And not consider anyone, oh
I will hold your hand
And wont let go, oh no I wont let go
Don't let this be the end
No you can't leave me here
To walk this world alone
I will hold your hand
I won't let go, no I won't let go
This can't be the end
Oh God no, this can't be the end
You can't leave me here
To walk this world alone
To walk this world alone, oh
But I will hold your hand
'Til your last dying breath
And I will love you
Even after you are put to rest
I will hold your hand
