Un(condition)ally

Poetry By: Heatherly
Song lyrics

I'm sorry that I love you,
I'm sorry that I care,
and I'm sorry that no matter how many times you push me away I'll still be there
unconditionally,
because I can't help the way I feel for you baby.

I don't mean to be mean,
but I can't help it you see,
you mean the whole damn world to me.
If my heart were a planet,
you'd be everything around it
If my chest was a speaker
then you'd be the beat
and I hate that things are different
not quite as great as they used to be
because in the end I always kinda thought
there'd at least be a you and me

(Chorus)
I'm sorry that I love you,
I'm sorry that I care,
and I'm sorry that no matter how many times you push me away I'll still be there
unconditionally,
because I can't help the way I feel for you baby.

No matter whose heart you break,
or how much time away from me you take.
I'll always come back to relieve that ache,
that hole in my chest that you may or may not have helped create.
I need you around me to make me feel real.
I need your sweet embrace to make me feel safe.

(Musical Break)

(Chorus)
I'm sorry that I love you,
I'm sorry that I care,
and I'm sorry that no matter how many times you push me away I'll still be there
unconditionally,
because I can't help the way I feel for you baby.

And this sanity that keeps escaping me
is my only vacation from this heart ache
I'll admit to my dying day
that I need you in such a bad way
and I know you're bad for me
but your eyes they hold a key
to how I can again be free
from all that you ask me to be

I wanna be there for you
without feeling like I have to
I want to be able to breathe
without my love for you strangling me

Once upon a time you made me feel like I could fly, but now that you've clipped my wings,
I just need some time to think.
I will still love you, I will still care,
when you cry out for me, damn well I'll be there,
but for now I need this time,
to accept that you are no longer unconditionally mine.
