Lay me in my coffin
don't cry over me
I've done all that I wanted to
so don't feel sad for me
I've flown the seven sky-ways
skipped over ever sea
swum in every ocean so
no need to cry for me
Friends I love them still
could never get my fill
I'll love them when I'm dead and gone
I guess I always will
Ma kinsfolk I have loved
more than life itself
I will love them evermore
so don't you fret yourself
and lay me in my coffin(Chorus)
Birds n fish
n honey bees spiders in their webs
humming birds in blossom trees
a moon that wanes and ebbs
all these things I've loved and shared
and it's hard to let them go but it's
time for other's to enjoy
and I must leave them, so
Lay me in my coffin(chorus)
I believe that this is all there is
no afterlife for me
so I have lived life to the full
with no regrets you see.
Time now to wave farewell
send me on my way
I've done all that I can do
there's nothing left to say
so lay me in my coffin
