How many times do we say things we don't mean to say?
Or we do mean; but they come out the wrong way!
So many times I've re-written this play...
And still I managed to ruin the day.
I can losethe sunshine on a tropical island
Uncut, unpolished diamond
Loud-mouthed, hot-headed firebrand
Uncut, unpolished diamond
How many times do we do things we don't mean to do?
Or do mean; but just not with you!
So many times I've thought it all through...
Still I manage to make you feel blue.
I can losethe sunshine on a tropical island
Uncut, unpolished diamond
Loud- mouthed, hot-headed firebrand
Uncut, Unpolished diamond
How many times do we open our mouth before we think?
Or do think; but succumb to drink?
Too many times I cringe and I blink...
Further into my own grave I sink.
I can lose the sunshine on a tropical island
Uncut, unpolished diamond
Loud-mouthed, hot-headed firebrand
Uncut, unpolished firebrand
Uncut, unpolished diamond
Uncut, unpolished diamond
