you lit the fire and then you snuffed it out
you are trespassing on my soul
you made me realize what death is like
did everything but dig the hole
for every step i take i go back three
i walk an endless flight of stairs
i got a pocketful of rounded pegs
but al the holes i find are squares
lost and found and lost again
i don't know where i'm going
i forget where i've been
but this ol' world keeps spinnin' 'round
won't you pick me up
down at the lost and found
i used to like to take my fingertips
and trace the pattern of your smile
fatally wounded by your single twitch
so devastated by your style
the stars are gone now and the moon won't glow
it makes it hard to navigate
when all the clouds i see are hanging low
as if they're daring me me to wait
lost and found and lost again
i don't know where i'm going
i forget where i've been
but this ol' world keeps spinnin' 'round
won't you pick me up
down at the lost and found
