Dancing in the rain
alt
I step out onto the road
with got no place to go
I left my heart back with you
To forget the badness, that what I have to do.
No more sadness, only love.
The weight has been lifted way up above
Only, the missing pain is obvious
Making me feel slightly dubious
That maybe I chose wrongly,
But I feel this pretty strongly
No more hiding behind the memory of you,
Because I love you. I truly truly do.
But that's all in the past
And I pray that that is that.
*
Running down pavements,
Running from you,
Only I want to stay
Right here with you.
My heart says stay
But my mind says run.
How can I leave?
When you're the one?
*
A fragile memory bubbles to the surface of my mind,
And it keeps resurfacing all the time.
But nothing will ever make you mine
Love will never make us fine.
We were born to hate each other
Like the cliffs and the sea.
A constant battle for supremacy
But then something magical happened;
We fell in love.
It wasn't perfect but it was real
And that's why when you lied;
I couldn't bear to say goodbye.
But my brain is against my heart
That means we'll stay apart.
*
Running down pavements,
Running from you,
Only I want to stay
Right here with you.
My heart says stay
But my mind says run.
How can I leave
When you're the one?
*
I keep seeing a flash of brown and speck of green
But I know that you're not here for me.
I pick up my phone
As the memory of you keeps me alone
Because your number flashes in my mind
But then I remember that it was you who left me behind.
So I nearly apologize for telling you the truth
I know that I can't cope without you
But I'll never go back. Not now, not ever.
Once upon a time you promised me forever
But I'm stronger now,
I'll move on somehow.
You left me stranded in the rain,
So now I'm learning to dance in it again.
