In the heat of the day,
I just wanted everyone to go away.
Because when I heard my name,
I knew I was going into the game.
And just like the rest,
I tried my hardest to impress.
But it wasn't enough.
Costumes and glitter,
Blood and blisters,
And I want to go home.
Crying and weeping,
And I am not sleeping,
Because I am alone.
(Chorus)
I don't want to be a part of this game,
But I guess I'm already in it.
I don't want to say good-bye,
So I guess I'm going to have to win it.
Is that sky really blue, or is it just another fake.
I cannot sleep, I am wide-awake.
I hear the crying, of the dying.
I don't want the fame,
I just want to get out of this game.
In the dank of the night,
My body shook with fright.
Because when I heard them come,
I thought that I was done.
And just like the rest,
I put on my defense.
But now that they are dead,
Their screams are forever in my head.
