"I'm turning 11" She said
"No you're not" I said
"I'm going to 5th grade" She said
"No you're not" I said
"My brother grew a foot and a half"
"No he can't have, no he can't have"
"Time just keeps passing my dear"
"Yes", she said, "I've seen"
"I'm getting on, I'm getting old"
"No, you're only 14"
Is what she said to me
But it feels like I've been alive
Since the dawn of time
And I can't remember much past yesterday
And time just keeps passing
"They're giving him last rights" she said
"They're increasing his morphine"
"But I heard he was fine, I thought he was fine
But he's dying
What the hell?" she said
I suppose that we're all going in the end
And he's ill, he's ill, he's ill, he's dying
But so are we I thought
But so are we
But so are we I thought
But so are we
"Time just keeps passing my dear"
"Yes", she said, "I've seen"
"I'm getting on, I'm getting old"
"No, you're only 14"
Is what she said to me
But it feels like I've been alive
Since the dawn of time
And I can't remember much past yesterday
And time just keeps passing
He asked, "Did you see Poppy?"
And I didn't want to say
That I saw him everywhere
In everybody's face
And that house is quite haunted
But the ghosts don't mind us much
And with time they will fade
With time they will fade
Because time erases everything
And it's trying to steal from me again
