Forgive and Take

Song lyrics

I wrote this song almost immediately after the Sandy Hook shootings. It was a sad time, and I seriously felt saddened by the event. It inspired me to write these song lyrics. Some websites have claimed this material to be too gruesome, but I believe they are real. I hope you do as well.

Verse 1

The angel's teardrops fall like rain

to show the pain,

to wash away the sin.

A child's spirit in his arms,

the body far;

light a star again.

All the while,

the doctor smiles;

no regret.

He'll forget

the abortion.

Refrain/Chorus

And we still

let them stall,

let them kill.

Watch us fall, fall, fall.

It's not the child's fault!

Verse 2

Feed us regret from the tablecloth

like we're dogs

baying too long at the moon.

No more food on society's plate;

the Devil ate.

We will hate religion soon.

All the while,

the fat man smiles.

The starving girl;

she will kill for

a portion.

Refrain

And we still

let them stall,

let them kill.

Watch us fall, fall, fall.

It's not the child's fault.

Bridge

Forgive us, O Father,

we know not what we do.

Take the children,

bring them to You.

Forgive and take,

regret for them.

Forgive and take,

sorrow for them.

Forgive and take,

sadness for them.

I hope we regret

the hate we have

for the innocent

children.

Refrain

But we still

let them stall,

let them kill.

And we fall, fall, fall.

It's our fault!

Please forgive us…
