If only you could see
You mean the world to me
And it seems to revolve around you
Every step you take
And the ground just prays

It doesn’t seem fair that you should
Be tagging along with someone
Who is hardly your equal
I’m not worth it all
At all
You just leave me
Don’t let me get in your way
Is this out of pity?
Please I really can’t put up with charity
I’ve spent so long on my own
But I don’t deserve you
You were put on this earth to be beautiful
Just stand there and be admired
I’m dragging you down
I’m sorry I’m not good enough
I’m trying hard to please you
But I really don’t want to I just want to sleep
Why won’t you give up on me?
Your praise is doing nothing
I’ve been hurt for too long
I’m beyond repair
Don’t blame yourself
It’s my own fault
I can’t help that you’re so wonderful
I’ve lived in your shadow
Comforted by your silhouette
I feel so scared that you’ll disappear
You’re so perfect I really can’t believe my luck
But it seems so selfish I keep you with me
The world needs more godly impossibilities
So just sit down
Let me take one more look
Then I’ll let you go and do what you want
Quit telling me you need me
What can I give to you?
I’ve stumbled across a guardian angel
I’m frightened it’s like you’re made of porcelain
I’ll stay away so I don’t trip you
Why won’t you give up on me?
