Ever wished you were older?
And everyone didn’t look down on you
That your opinions were respected
And you weren’t ignored
Well I’ll write it down
Until they accept me
I’ll keep it safe
I’ll write night and day
Only then can they reject me
If only
You were a little older
And people took you
Seriously
If only their views were different
And they weren’t so immature
They weren’t so self conscious
Didn’t feel the need to prove
To take every single chance to be superior to you
And we might be young
But so were many
They still made their mark
They’re still known to us
How much are years really worth?
Every forced smile
They give
They’re not fooling you
One little bit
You’re too mature
To be playing about
You might be small
But they’re the ones in the wrong
They don’t see
That you’re frustrated
And you’ve got
Something to say
They’re missing out
But I still feel I’ve lost
They underestimate
Won’t give you the time of day
They don’t realise
Inside you’re not a child
The eyes can be deceiving
I’m accepting an apology
That you’re not giving
Why are you stubborn?
I understand a mistake
That you’re not acknowledging
I’m talking to you listen up
I don’t really care who you are
Respect goes both ways
