I went to eat at a roadhouse
That's when I got into a fight,
over a very pretty woman,
I'd never seen before that night.
Why didn't I keep my mouth shut
I could have ate, then paid my check
But I tore that place to pieces,
down to my very last breath
Did your momma tell your daddy,
like my daddy told me,
son don't ever let me see,
you treat your lady bad,
don't you treat your lady bad,
cause if you treat your lady bad,
you ain't no son of mine.
He said a few bad words
then he smacked her around
He grabbed her by the arm
and then he threw her to the ground
Why didn't I keep my distance
I could have turned around and left
But I gave that man a mouth full,
down to my very last breath
Did your momma tell your daddy,
like my daddy told me,
son don't ever let me see,
you treat your lady bad,
don't you treat your lady bad,
cause if you treat your lady bad,
you ain't no son of mine.
