Looking outside at the pouring down rain
the sun hasn't shined in a day or two
Sitting here alone and not feeling any pain
I think that you took it all away with you.
With the sunshine you upped and went away
a quart of moonshine sits here by my bed
I don't know why you and the sun couldn't stay
and good dreams they quit coming to my head.
No one stops by that I really want to see
they don't realize what I'm going through
I just wish that you were here with me
and that the sun would start shining too.

as long as I'm missing you.
Wake up in the morning crying tears
from a good dream that I didn't have
What happened to all those years
when you came to chase away the bad.
What do I want to go outside for
except to soak up in the ground
I may as well bolt and lock the door
cause I know that you aren't coming around.
