Why can't we go back to when,
We watched the snow just glisten
When our guns were filled with water
We never expected a slaughter...
We'd play on tire swings
But they played with our wirings
As the fire burns
We all had to learn
Some way we barely got out
Of our clubhouse
Bullets ran faster than my tears
Bullets hurt more than all of my fears
But we made it this far
That matters most of all
The war is on its way
They heard the call
And the glass will break
As the soldiers falls
The curtains come down
Ripped away to a frown
Almost there
Scared and on the ground
The sky turns black
Screams run down your back
You try to run, thought it'd be fun
But they have you tied down
As the pin drops
Your head spins 'round and 'round
Why can't we go back to then?
You ask yourself
They've killed all out men
As you push down the shelf
This wasn't as bad
Now your life's a living Hell...
Why can't we go back to when,
War really was a game,
Thorns came from roses,
Our castles were built in sandboxes
We worried about monsters
Under our beds
Balancing books on our heads
But that's all done...
We had our fun...
And if I could go back to then
I'd make the most of it...
