Superhero

Verse 1:

She hides in the corner of her room, afraid to open the door to the real world

She clutches her notebook of all her fears; She doesn't know how to fix anything

She hears the shouts of her mom and dad, arguing over just little things

And then she wonders just who is going to save her from this. And I said

(Bridge opener)

Don't be afraid, I won't let you hurt, there's something on my mind that I've been dying to tell you but i just can't find the right words.

Chorus:

Let me be there for you, let me protect you

Let me chase the monsters that hide in your room

Let me fight the demons that attack your heart

Let me fight the bullies that parade at your locker

Just let me be, more to you, let me be your superhero

Verse 2:

Well she isn't sure what to think, she doesn't understand

That not everyone is out to destroy her heart, maybe just some want to help and protect her.

Well she dried the tears from her deep brown eyes, she stands and she looks around the room

Didn't even notice that I was standing in the doorway just waiting for her to see, and she said.

(Bridge Opener)

So many people have wanted to help, but so few actually cared to stay

I don't want to risk being torn again, show me what you can do,

Chorus repeat:

Let me be there for you, let me protect you

Let me chase the monsters that hide in your room

Let me fight the demons that attack your heart

Let me fight the bullies that parade at your locker

Just let me be, more to you, let me be your superhero

Bridge:

Listen to me, I don't want to hurt you, I don't you do fall into a trap

All I see is a hurting young girl that could really use a friend.

And if God could keep you with me, I'd trade just about anything to make you see.

That I care, that I want to be there for you, that I will never ever leave your side.
