Night Of Champions 2013
Going into WWE Night Of Champions, for the first time ever, not every championshiip would be defended. Triple H fixed this though, and was able to find a challenger for Curtis Axel.
Tag Team Turmoil-Featuring Tons' Of Funk, 3MB, Prime Time Players, The Usos & The Real Americans
With the Tag Team Devision being improved, and becoming a fantastic asset to the company, a Tag Team Turmoil match was held, with many Tag Teams joining in for a chance at becoming #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships and face Seth Rollins & Ronan Reigns of The Shield later in the night.
Prediction: The Usos
The Usos had been involved in a few matches recently against The Shield, which has got them a lot of exposure, and they have grown as a team. I predicted that they'd win the match and win the right to face The Shield.
Result: Prime Time Players
Intercontinental Championship-Curtis Axel (c) VS Kofi Kingston
For the first time ever, every championship within the WWE was not going to be defended, as the Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel was involved in another match during the night. Triple H made an improptu match between Kofi and Curtis so that way the tradition of all title's being defended could continue.
Prediction: Kofi Kingston
I felt that it was time for Kofi to capture another championship, seeing how he hasn't had one in quiet a while. Also, Curtis Axel has been too involved with the Heyman V Punk saga.
Result: Curtis Axel
Divas Championship-AJ Lee (c) VS Natalya VS Brie Bella VS Naomi
Following AJ Lee's pipebomb about the storylines of Total Divas on the E! Network, the girls joined forces in an attempt to dethrone AJ as Divas Champion.
I predicted that an athlete like Natalya may be able to capture the Divas Championship, setting up for a much bigger rivalry.
Result: AJ Lee
World Heavyweight Championship-Alberto Del Rio (c) VS Rob Van Dam w/Ricardo Rodriguez
Alberto had punished Ricardo for too long, as Ricardo introduced his new friend, Rob Van Dam. The rivalry was intriguing, and the stage was now prepared for "One Of A Kind" to take on the "Mexican Aristocrat".
Prediction: Alberto Del Rio
As much as I want RVD to win, I think that his contract isn't that long, and I doubted he would have been able to pull of the victory and be a great champion if his contract were to run out.
Result: Rob Van Dam (By Del Rio's DQ meaning Del Rio retains title).
~Honestly, this was the best course of action.
The Miz VS Fandango
They have had a rivalry spanning a longer period than the others mentioned throughout the night, and The Miz was prepared to humiliate Fandango and his dancing ways.
Prediction: The Miz
Fandango hasn't been one that I've liked at all. I find him stale, and based on his win/loss record, I expected him to lose to The Miz, who is quite popular, in contrast.
Result: The Miz
~Worst match of the night. Good performance by both none the less.
Handicap Match (2-1) Elimination-CM Punk VS Curtis Axel (Intercontinental Champion) & Paul Heyman.
NOTE: If Punk defeats Axel, Heyman MUST get in the ring with Punk.
Punk has taken so much punishment from Heyman and his clients and is vowing for a chance to take out the man that caused him all of this frustration. On the other hand, Heyman and Axel want Punk out of the picture.
Prediction: CM Punk
Punk needs redemption. He would take out Axel, and ultimately get his prize of destroying Heyman.
Result: Punk eliminates Axel. Humiliates Heyman. Ryback comes out and puts Punk through a table and then drops Heyman on Punk. Heyman wins.
~Looks like it might be Ryback VS Punk, or a variation on that. Is Ryback a new Heyman guy?
United States Championship-Dean Ambrose (c) VS Dolph Ziggler
On the last friday night before NOC, Smackdown General Manager Vicki Guerrero announced that if Dolph won his match with Ambrose, he would become the number one contender. The rest of The Shield interfered, and cost him the match, but he was ultimately the winner, and was aloud to face Ambrose.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose
Based on a few things, I chose Ambrose. For one, Dolph has been in trouble for something he said in an interview, so he wouldn't be rewarded, and Ambrose is just too great of a champion right now to be dismissed.
Result: Dean Ambrose
WWE Tag Team Championships-Ronan Reigns & Seth Rollins (The Shield) (c) VS Prime Time Players
Earlier in the night, the PTP won the Tag Team Turmoil match and was able to become Number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships. The Shield was fresh, and ready for a fight.
Prediction: The Shield
Even though it looks like they've had a bit of a rise in popularity(Prime Time Players), The Shield is overwhelmingly powerful, and are on a roll.
Result: The Shield
WWE Championship-Randy Orton (c) VS Daniel Bryan
Honestly the main match I was looking towards. After the events that transpired at Summerslam, Triple H, alongside his family (The McMahons) and Randy Orton came down on Daniel and his friends in a way that reminded everyone of The Corporation.
Prediction: Randy Orton
I absolutely love these guys. They are really athletic, and are some of the company's best performers. However, if the rivalry is a reminder, or a flashback to events past, then Randy would win, and the rivalry would work its way up to Daniel finally capturing the coveted title.
Result: Daniel Bryan
