A poem about abuse.
Welcome!
A little something about me.

First and foremost I'm a child of God, a true believer. I'm a passionate writer, and an avid reader. I tend to drop a few tears every now and then when watching a good movie. I love music and spoken word. I love to hear people talk, the sound of another persons voice reminds me I'm never alone.
Instead of being called by my birth name I prefer to be called Vee. When I was little I was called by my first and middle name by the older members in my family. Unfortunately, most of them are gone now and so has that long ill-favored name. (I was named after one of my moms best friends) Funny thing is, she didn't like it either. I guess its safe to say; the older I get the shorter my name becomes. I'm not really sure how they'll introduce me when I'm the rightful old age of 102 on the Good Morning America morning show being interviewed about all the books I've wrote. I live in Lithonia, Georgia. Moved here in 1996 and it grew on me. I'm a Mother of 2 handsome sons and I'm a proud grandmother of 3 beautiful granddaughters (Aka: Nana). I still believe in spending good quality time with my family. Getting together for family dinners on Sunday. (Like in the movie Soul Food) I've come to realize life has no secrets and in the end it will leave you without a doubt. Every little thing I've embarked upon in my lifetime has already been touched, talked about, discussed, pondered, worried about, cried over, tucked away, prayed over, called out, argue about, overlooked, ignored, thought about and considered. It took me a while to figure it all out but I got it, life happens. We get older, and nothing stays the same. I was once asked If I could spend an entire day with anyone who would it be? And all I could think of was spending my entire day with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love being in the presences of Goodness. If I could change anything in my life what would it be? It would be my memory I tend to forget everything. Have you seen my keys and my bankbook?
I believe everyone has a story to tell. Somewhere in the depths of our souls theres a story waiting to get out. Some a little more interesting than others, but nevertheless, its a story someone may need to hear.
If I could I would set up a non-profit organization where people could just come and talk about anything, a place where someone listens without judgement.

NANA'S GRANDS
