This poem is about a vision that I received when I was 17 while visiting a Lakota Sioux Reservation in Kyle, South Dakota. My name was given to me then, and my spirit animal as well.
An essay I wrote a few years back for school on the book Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko, particularly dealing in the identity of the 'destroyers'.
This short story is about a hard working Italian American gentleman, who moves to America with his dad to make a fortune. He has to overcome multiple hurdles to reach his ultimate goal, and he encounters sadness and depression in his life. But he also encounters happiness and love.
