I like the work of Oscar Wilde.
The "Mind" characters used in this book are metaphors. Their physical appearance is dictated by the state of mind they represent. They have no choice to change their original appearance, but they do have the power to modify the social set of expectations that are attached to their identity.
Maya has lost many people in her life. She is willing to make a dangerous deal with a shady character to hold on to her dying mother.
This is the third part of a 3 part anthology series where all the characters are connected and each story takes a step further from reality.
