To my mothers on the day to celebrate them. I have several people that need to be acknowledged. Thank you Robin, Nancy, Kelly, Debbie, and Eli. I love you all very much and I am grateful to the times we have had together, and though for a few I am far from home, I am thinking of you all.

This short vaguely constructed chapter is an important one related to the novel's overall theme as it captures the state of mind the main character is caught in at the moment. I can't go into detail but it will all make sense at the end of the novel.

This is a poem for all of those girls out there who pretend to be happy. Who pretend like everything is perfectly okay; when in fact they're literally on the verge of dying inside. I can relate to this poem, and I know others can too.
