A child is born with a terrible curse. Her mother takes her and flees into the forest to escape a murderous mob. She falls in love with a kind young man, but when he is captured by the villagers, she is forced to make a terrible choice.
While a feeble minded man wrestles with guilt over his infidelity, his illegitimate daughter is locked away to keep her out of the hands of his jealous wife.
This poem is part romance/part life story. Don't read this if you hate angst or the GLBTQ community.
