This was me waxing philosophical on New Year's 2005. I was invited to a New Year's Eve party by a friend who turned out to indeed be "letting me down gently before leaving me behind." But my resolution stands true to this day.
This was written for one of my best friends, whom I met as a karaoke DJ, as a parting gift before she moved from Portland to Arizona. Ironically, I later moved to Arizona, and then she moved back to Portland. But we did have about a year of living in the same state again. :-)
