my prayer in times of trouble

In the dead of the night, a single girl prays hoping to ward off the uneasiness in her gut but it's her worst nightmare as the thing she fears the most appears in her bedroom door. Will she succeed in repelling it or will she falter as fear claws her into tiny pieces?

I've always wanted to be a strong woman, someone that could always be relied on. My mother, in spite of the times that we butted heads quite often, was the epitome of what a strong woman was. She relied not on her own strength, but on God's strength in her and that made her a hero in my eyes.
The thoughts of a man that gave up his faith for love, and was punished dearly for it.

These words came to me while I was in the hospital. I spent 18 days. I had part of my liver removed due to cancer. I ended up going downhill after the surgery. It was a very difficult time.
I recall saying many prayers. This one, is the one that stayed with me.
