He’s no ordinary man, son
For--he is a man who is truly
Blessed with gifted power,
from mighty heaven above.
He is a unique person son
A storyteller of class, caliber and talent

This is a poem I wrote right after reading Ishmael Beah's novel A Long Way Gone; Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. The book documents his life as a soldier in the Sierra Leone Army, and the struggles he goes through to leave that life. My Poem however, only encompasses the time before he was a soldier...
I totally wrote this under a tree in the rain on my way home from Musical rehearsal. Gotta get props for that.
