A poem that I'm putting in the next chapter of my novel

This is a piece I have been working on for a while now, I am unsure as to how often I will be updating it, or how big the updates will be, but hopefully those updates will happen.
A few critique questions for this piece:
-How is the mood of it?
The Narrator describes the nature of his occupation; how he studies the feeble-minded humans.
My family is like a shelf and i am an old forgotten book
Sometimes the cold weather can make us do bizarre things ... even if it's only a day dream...
Red and his friends just were traveling out to see a circus when they get trapped, now forced to perform the dex-holders must find a way to escape or be trapped forever.

During my many online dialogs with evolutionist atheist I noticed that several of them referred me to a paper by Todd C. Wood, a Christian, that was published in the Answers in Genesis Research Journal in 2009 titled
Depending on the path you take, you could end up as the life of the party, or dead. Make your choices carefully.
It's all about one's longing for solitude which has its own charm in a lovely wood.
