Single mom of three daughters. I have written op articles for our local newspaper, but I've only ever submitted one story before. "God's Little Flowers" was written as part of BookCrossings short story contest. The winner received a trip to a writer's conference, and a foot in the door. I didn't win... or even come in third. Ah, well....

I've been writing since I can remember. The first "story" I wrote was copied, illustrations and all, from my favorite book at the time... I think I was about six or seven. I wrote and performed plays with my little brother at family holidays, and, with the same brother, recorded thousands of hours of comedy (well, we thought they were hilarious.) I wish I had all the stories I've written, not that they were any good, but it would be great to see the growth. In high school I took creative writing, and helped start a creative writing club.

My writing weakness is: I'm a great starter, and great with ideas, but suck when it comes to discipline. I get about three chapters in, then get board and quit, having satiated the craving. Maybe a place like this will be just what I need to become a finisher. alt

The Reader's Bill of Rights:

The right to not read
The right to skip pages
The right to not finish
The right to reread
The right to read anything
The right to escapism
The right to read anywhere
The right to browse
The right to read out loud
The right to not defend your tastes
