There’s this house. And there’s a man inside the house claiming that he’s a spider. I don’t believe him. Why should I? But he has hairy legs (eight, of course) and a handful of eyes. And he can move his eyes independently of each other, and thus look around without having to turn his head. Oh, and he’s able to walk on the walls. Funny trick, but don’t try it at home.
I don’t believe him. I know his intentions. I try to jump out of the window, but he is much faster than me. He gets caught of me, holding me with his legs so strongly that I can hardly breathe. I can feel something pushing my lungs. I look down, but it’s just my heart beating. I realize that I have no skin at all. I can see my ribs and my inner organs. My heart disturbs me. Somehow I feel it is in the wrong place. I tear it out and try to put it to my other side, but it does not want to stick to me. Somehow it doesn’t fit in. I throw it away. Strange, but I’m still alive. Am I not supposed to die without a heart? I take out a knife and stab the man in the head. He does not bleed, which is strange again. He lets me go.
I say, “This cannot be real”, and suddenly it occurs to me that, indeed, I am dreaming. That makes me feel somewhat better.
Then, it comes to my mind that the spider (in fact, just a man who claims to be a spider) said I was a fly. So maybe I should fly away. Out of the house. I try to fly and realize that I have wings, which is great. I fly to the wall, and I can hear the spiderman’s voice, clear and mean, teasing me by saying that he will follow me up there. I want to fly to the door, but the moment I reach it I can see that it’s shut. I crash and my wings break. I start falling to the ground, but finally I end up in a huge cobweb.
“Gotcha” says the man with the knife sticking out of his head.
“I cannot die” I reply, thinking that after all, I’ve lost my heart and I’m still alive, so what worse could happen to me? He’s getting closer and closer. I struggle, but in vain. The web is too strong. And to tell the truth, it’s quite disgusting.
“I cannot die” I say again, but I can see the man showing an evil smile, and, for the first time, I can see that he has fangs. I get frightened and think that I should have flown out of the window. The man looks hungry. But as he tries to come near me, he stumbles on something. It looks like a weird red ball rolling across the room, leaving stains everywhere. I realize that it’s my heart which I have thrown away. The man loses his balance and falls, moaning angrily. I wake up.
