My breathing increases as I run faster down the narrow, dark hallway. I use my fingertips to see what is in front of me and beside me. My adrenaline is pumping through my veins as I see a light at the end of the hallway.
The light is bright white.
I hear my heartbeat; beat slower and slower getting quieter.
What's happening to me?
I can hear the sound of some sort of beeping noise that matches the sound of my beating but dying heart.
What is wrong with me?
How did I deserve such a short life?
"Emily please don't go!" A little girl's voice says.
"Anna!" I cry out to my little sister
No respond, can she hear me? I'm loud my voice is loud!
Why can't anyone hear me?
I get to the light at the end of the hallway.
So beautiful and so gentle, I walk into it.
My heart beats one more beat…..
"Were losing her!"
The feel of electricity jolts through me.
"Clear!" Someone yells.
And again the feeling of life jolts through my dying heart.
"Clear, 1….2….3 go!"
My heart starts to beat faster gaining life.
I'm going to live!
The beeping noise speeds up matching my hearts pace.
"It's working!" Someone yells happily. "She will live!"
I open my eyes, blurry vision taking over my eyesight. But it goes away as my eyes focus in on the florescent light.
I am in a hospital bed. I look around the room at the people who brought me back.
"Go get her family!" A doctor shouts.
My family rushes in a few seconds later. Tear filled eyes on every ones face sad emotion fills the room.
"Emily!" Anna says while walking over to my bed.
"Anna." I manage to whisper.
She raps one of her skinny arms around my stomach giving me a hug.
"I love you." My mother and father both say in unison.
"Me too." Anna says.
I smile a weak smile.
"Who did this to you?" My mother asks.
I look at her confused.
"Who beat you to the point of death?" My father asks with a flash of anger in his voice.
Chris! My boyfriend where is he? My thoughts are all jumbled and I'm very confused.
"Where is Chris?" My dad yells making my little sister flinch.
"I don't know." I say while trying to sit up.
My mother rushes over to my bed and says, "No sweetie stay, relax."
"I'm going to kill him!" My dad shouts while barging out of the room.
Mom follows and says, "We'll be back in the morning, come on Anna."
"Bye Emily." They all say.
I take one more look around the all white room and close my eyes to go to sleep.
