CHAPTER 56
Janice drove her car fast. Janice recognised the brick outlay of the building. They were at
Detective Kingston's house. Janice walked in her face anxious with worry. Janice rang
Detective Kingston's Superintendent "This is Janice you met me the other day". The
Superintendent was unhappy "How l can help you". The detective knew he couldn't speak
over the phone "Can you come over". The Superintendent responded "Why what's so urgent". The detective tried to calm down "Boss we need to speak to you". The Superintendent agreed to meet and drove around to Kingston's house. The Superintendent knocked on Detective Kingston's door. He had never been to the detectives house but liked if it was a bit small Tor his tastes. Janice opened the door 'Glad your hear". The Superintendent and was surprised to see Janice "Good to see you Janice". Janice responded "Likewise". The Superintendent sat down and looked over to Janice he was still unsure of why he had been called. Janice looked to the Superintendent "l don't know if its on the news or you have heard. The assignment l was on", Janice found it difficult to get her words together. Janice knew she was struggling "What l am trying to say is that we were hit by a powerful group. Most of my group are dead.
We and only a handful of others survived. The Superintendent had seen earlier how fireman had been called to a large burning house on the edge of Birmingham "l lend my detective go for a few days and you end up causing up a war. Yes I've seen the reports. Nasty business. I've been on the force for over thirty years but not seen anything like this before". Janice looked to the Superintendent "No one knows we are alive. We can't risking using the phones We were hit by the Centauri group. l don't how they amassed such a force on British soil we were taken by surprised". The Superintendent "What can l do you guys have satellites in space and bugs in phone sockets". Janice continued "l need access to the police Station but we need to get in unnoticed".
The Superintendent was uncomfortable with the thought of his police Station being a target for a group that could take out his police Station without a scratch. The Superintendent looked to Janice "You got help. l know how to get in without being seen. l have ways and means. The best thing is to go around the back no one is there at this time of night".
