Sitting, watching everyone around me
All the sound starts to disappear
Three girls jump rope next to me
1,... 2,... 3,... 4,...
The loud counting turns into tiny whispers
Until there's no sound at all
A dog is opening his mouth at me
A soundless bark
All the color smears
The world is a watercolor painting
My heart beat rings through my ears
thump, thump! thump, thump!
I hear the barking now
The girls continue their song
5,... 6,... 7,... 8,...
The color fizes back into place
