Ovation

While I stand here on this platform

They said my life would flash before my eyes

But it just seems to stand still

As the moment draws near

I think to myself

All the work I have done leads to this

In a few short minutes

I will be presentedto the

Ovation of a thousand cheers

As the official places my fate

Around my neck the tension eases

As it eases among the crowd, it only increases in my favor

Then he pulls the rope taught

And kicks the stool from under me

It is only a matter of minutes

Now my neck is limp and hanging

The crowd is dispersing

As my soul rises

To the promise land I run away

Comments:

Whoa. This IS pretty dramatic. Why'd she or he ran away just like that? I like this but could you make your words a little bigger? Some people can't actually read it.
