There wasn't a single thing that she could do, she watched him thrash about on the dampen earth trying to get the agony out of his skin; his veins pulsing, as the venom choked his heart. She could see every detail of his body as though he had no skin-it was horrifying. But, what could she do? She had no magical remedies for this type of torture. Slowly his kin turned from its usual coppery tone to now a greyish green-the form of rotting flesh.

This plague was vastly known for its result of death and for having no cure. It left its victim a new body, an immortal body that they cannot control. The form of the new body was hideous to mankind. This new form wasn't at all like a vampire or zombie, it was something completely different, something no one could name for the horror that the person gets put through.

The plague has been known for five thousand years or more. She felt a tear broke lose, as she watched helplessly from the safety of the Glass City, a room where they put all of the victims past loved ones in for fear of the victims going after them and for the prevention of more of these vial creatures. She couldn't take it anymore, she had to do something.

She slammed her fists angrily into a nearby marble pillar, resulting only in with throbbing knuckles. She cursed loudly and sat hard onto the tiled floor that was cool underneath her skin.

The man separated from her by the glass wall, was strapped down with brown leather cords and prodded with needles in hopes that one of the formulas would be the cure with little hope that the scientist held. She could see his fear behind his icy blue eyes, now turning grey as well.

"Calla, please stop this madness." Her mother ordered from across the small room. Calla flashed a hard glare at her mother. "They would think that you were bitten!"

"What if I was, Georgette?" She asked her mother, who held a look of surprise by her former name.

"What did you call me?" She asked.

"You heard me." Calla replied, anger coursing through her veins.

"I am no longer Georgette, Calla, so I suggest that you call me by my proper title." Her mother ordered.

"I am not your court, you cannot boss me around!" Calla screamed in frustration "Besides I'm not your daughter either!"

"I took that back-"

"Yeah, once you found out that I was to inherent a grand sum from my true father!" Calla interrupted Georgette. Sure, she called herself Calla's mother ever since she was little, but she couldn't take it any longer.

"What are you talking about?" Her mother questioned her "You are my biological daughter-"

"No, I'm not!" She interrupted again "that is why you had Ian followed by those creatures! That is why he is here, struggling for his life!"

"What are you talking about?" Georgette asked.

"Ian isn't of royal blood compared to me and you who are royalty by marriage and you just wanted to keep it that way!" Calla paused for a breather "So, you hired that bounty hunter to destroy Ian by any means necessary just so you can keep your family on the throne!" She paused again just long enough for the message to sink "Well, guess what Georgette?" She asked. "I'm not accepting the crown!"

Her mother came across the room and slapped her, she felt the anger she was building quickly turn into revenge.
